I also had an excellent first shave.  The bent safety bar had no noticeable effect.  DFS in 1 pass, no blood or irritation.
I used a Feather Pro blade, Cremo French Lavender shave cream, Thayer's witch hazel, and Speick after shave.

I have a strong inclination to cut the bent safety bar off completely, and turn it into a shavette.
And unless Luke wants the bent part back, that's exactly what I'll do.  What say you, Luke?  Let me know.

Update:  They want the razor back, so I won't be making a shavette out of it after all.  At least not now.  I'm somewhat disappointed.  It would have been the first T-handled shavette that I know of.  I even spent a little time with a pair of jeweler's needle nose pliers trying to tweak it back to square, and with some success, but it still has a slight belly in the center, so I will send it back for replacement.

There is much good to be said about this razor.  The weight and balance is spot on.  The razor is light and nimble.  The level of efficiency/ aggressiveness is also to my liking.  The design is not original, but is in some ways an improvement on the original design.  But not the safety bar.  The safety bar is the weak point of the razor.  Flimsy would be a good word to describe it.  It's light, easy to bend, and looks like it was added on as an afterthought.  If there are future iterations of this razor, that would be something to work on.  Or maybe an open comb.

I'm going to use the razor once more tomorrow, before mailing it back  to them.  It really would make a great shavette.

Used my Enoch this morning and I have to say that I am impressed. Used a Schick Proline as I thought the razor was going to be aggressive. I was pleasantly surprised at the smooth highly efficient shave that I got after my 2.5 pass shave. I might swap out the handle for something slightly longer and beefier. The head design is very similar to the Asylum Rx. Even the way the blade loads is similar. I found the best angle for me to use is almost vertical to my face. The blade feel is there but not in a bad way and the feedback is great. It’s also very nimble.
Need to get a couple more shaves in before I rank it amongst my SE razors. Right now my top 5 are
1) General V2
2) Paradigm SE
3) Blackland Vector
4) Asylum Rx
5) Rocnel SE-50 V2

Update:  Luke okayed my request, so I went ahead and altered the razor.  I'll shave with it in the morning.  Here are a few pictures.

I drew blood this morning for the first time in a long while.  Three small cuts, but an otherwise very clean shave.  I have very little experience with straight razors or shavettes.  I am a right handed shaver.  I can shave the right side of my face with a straight, using my right hand, but I can't figure out how to shave the left side of my face right-handed without cutting myself.  I don't trust my left hand with a blade against my face.  I've always avoided straights and shavettes, because they require two handed shaving, and I have a damaged left hand.  So I use safety razors instead.
I'm glad I made this experiment, and after I receive a replacement I'm going to put this one out as a pass around for those who are interested.

The shave:  Enoch Razor (Altered), Feather AC Pro blade, Cremo shave cream (Lavender), Thayer's witch hazel, Speick after shave.

Luke,
Are we able to order the 3 dot plate by itself to make the Hiram more aggressive if needed?
Thanks,
George
