That would be very interesting! Did you had to pay taxes/customs on top of the $$$ price?

Each country will have different tax/duty rates. If you are in The US, if I remember correctly, you have a personal limit of up to $900 value declared before you are taxed.

The hardest hit countries for taxes in this case from what I hear are Canada (almost 20%), Australia, and some parts of Europe.

I am aware of that - maybe I expressed myself incorrect. What I mean was If the order was declared right or wrong. Some shops while shipping to another country declare their parcel with 10$ to avoid customs for costumers, some shops declare it rigth

I was wondering about that, now it makes sense. I think the only rare time it is cheaper to buy from Tatara is when they have a major sale, like Black Friday. Back then opting for the least expensive shipping also avoids incurring extra cost, as the package doesn't declare the MSRP.

If I do go ahead with this razor and stand from Tedalus, I'll be paying over $250 for taxes and duty.

VAT in Switzerland is 7,7%. I assume this will be subtracted from the total for customers outside of Switzerland.

Manuel emailed me back earlier and unfortunately it looks like for the time being, there will not be a pass around nor a group discount buy available.

Thanks. He did not have the courtesy to email me back. I do think he will sell more if he did one. I don’t know too many people who would take a flyer on a piece that expensive, but we shall see. It does look like a nice razor.

I was also someone who had to smile slightly or looked at it with incomprehension when the razor was announced. It wasn't the design, geometry or finish. It was of course the price. A price that a manufacturer has to dare to charge. A price that makes you think - what's the point or rather - why?
A razor designed and completely manufactured in Switzerland.
The design is a dream, as is the finish in the pictures.
Nevertheless, I asked myself why I should spend so much money on a razor - for a brand that actually has little to do with Safety razors. Blindly spending €800 on stainless steel in times when titanium is the order of the day? Then why not go for a Wolfman, Rocnel Sailor, Carbon Damaskus or 2 Haircut&Shaves razors? Or just something else in titanium that I know is good.
I was also "put off" by the neutral exposure.

The first reports came in which were promising and I started to reconsider.
Tedalus also offers a satisfaction guarantee - this means that you can return the razor within a certain period of time if you don't like it.
I think that's great and someone definitely stands behind their product.
I got in touch with Manuel who was really nice and helpful with my questions.

After I told him which serial number I would like, it went quickly and within 24 hours the razor was with me.
Unpacked and I was blown away. Take a look at the pictures and enjoy.
The finish is mirror polished and brushed in an elegant mix. The handle is hollow and sits well in the hand. Despite its 112g, it feels very light and fantastically balanced.
The design is definitely unique and I can hardly take my eyes off it. The curves, the lather channel, the topcap- it's all so sexy.
The polish is really first class, the brushed finish looks very high quality, tolerances are at the highest level.
In the box was a polishing cloth, a lifetime warranty card, 10 Feather blades, a passport for the razor in different languages which I think is a super ingenious idea and the logo seal which is reminiscent of Rolex.
Is it worth it?
Everyone has to find out for themselves.
