At the moment ... It's pricey.

Way over priced! Is it stainless or titanium?

It says 316L in the description and guessing part of the outrageous cost is it is mirror polished and then brushed!!

I cannot say enough good things about my Essence - my hat is off to Manuel - but I may have to pass the V1 by.  Best of luck though to those who are fortunate enough to pick one up.

Merging this with the one that has been running longer already Gentlemen.

I read elsewhere that their shavette was, so it really would not surprise me if the DE is as well. And paying that money for something “assembled” in Switzerland sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

If you purchase a Rolls Royce Phantom, it comes with a hood ornament. You pay extra for that ornament.

If you purchase a Rolex watch, it comes with a Rolex logo on the face. You pay extra for the logo.

I guess if you purchase a Tedalus razor, the logo is part of the "experience" of owning the razor. If they eliminated the logo, they would have to reduce the price by a few hundred dollars.

Tedalus website says Swiss Made, not 100% made in Switzerland. The DE razor might be made somewhere else, such as China.
Even if it is made in Switzerland, still expensive.

This page has info on the definition of Swiss Made for watches.

I don't have an issue with Chinese manufacturing. There are economy razors like the clones which have awful qaqc and errors we see so many posts of. But there are also operations like the ones that do the alpha titanium I received a few months back. It's as good as anything USA made. My main issue for the price point is stainless as a material.

A titanium mirror wolfman is equal in this price range. I could see a tradeoff of wolfman finishing to tedalus packaging and exclusivity. This price will make sense to some but I would imagine it struggles in the secondary market.
