How’s the new base compare to some of the other artisan players out there?

I think T+S v.1 is excellent and v.2 is top tier so I'm putting v.3 at even better. I've only used it once but I'd put it in the top 2 or 3 soap bases that I've tried. I have trouble trying to pick my #1 but this one would be in the running.

I just got Kyoto, I haven’t shaved with it as that’s for tomorrow Smile but the scent is very very nice! Really liking the scent and can’t wait to lather it up tomorrow morning. The new base stays out of the scent so that should be a big plus for people who had an issue with V2 muddling up the scent, comparing the scent off the soap to the aftershave is very similar!.

In no particular order Declaration Grooming, Tallow + Steel, Barrister and Mann with Wholly Kaw, PC Nuavia, Grooming Dept and Sudsy Soapery right up there.

I don't want to go down that road right now, however, I'm just delighted with Ryan's latest releases - Kyoto is beautifully packaged with a really nice label and even the texture of the label on both the soap and the aftershave are a cut above. Happy2

I agree totally. It’s getting harder and harder to rate soaps these days. There are just too many good ones. While T+S has always been one of the best performing soap bases for me, I don’t think I could get anymore specific while rating soaps other than to say top five, or maybe top three. Where in that top five might be impossible to say, and might even change from day to day or season to season.

That’s cool. Just wanted to know the neighborhood you were talking about...
Packaging really isn’t a big deal to me. It’s all about the performance...but...I can appreciate how that might be a factor to others.

No doubt, a pretty package won't elevate a mediocre product but we're talking T+S here and Ryan has really considered every aspect of his products - attention to detail, quality inside and out.

Kyoto will be my first T+S. My gold standard right now is WK Donkey Milk which so nails it for my partular face on all levels. Looking forward to it!

My Kyoto and Sicily have just arrived in the UK. Extremely fast service, I must say.

I am useless at describing scents so not even going there. I know what I like and what I don't, though, and these two are interesting, in a very positive way. Thank you, Ryan. Smile

Now, to decide which to use first, tomorrow morning.
