FWIW I'm in Finland and have always ordered directly from Ryan through his site. Shipping is very reasonable that way as well. Then I recon you could just ask before you order.

I was fortunate enough to get to try the new base ahead of time and share some feedback with Ryan.  The new base is a bit cleaner and lets the fragrances really shine.  The previous base added a note that toned down/muted the fragrances a bit.  Now that that is gone you'll experience the fragrances a bit cleaner and more refined.  More similar to the aftershave scents.    

Performance of the new base is absolutely outstanding, so it's certainly not a regression there at all.  You can buy this one with confidence when it comes out knowing that the performance will be as good as it gets in comparison to everything else out there.  

Personally, I put Tallow & Steel and Grooming Dept as my two best soaps with a noticeable lead over everything else ever made.

I was very impressed with the Grooming Dept Mallard base - really exceptional stuff. Since he’s doing well, maybe he could afford to hire a graphic designer though...   I kid Mohammad - damn good soap you make!

I have a question. If I was to order a T+S soap in, say, July from Topofthechain or Maggard how could I know which base I'm going to get...

The new base will have slightly redesigned labels and a different ingredients list. We will make sure that everything is clear and there is never any doubt about which base you will get.

I absolutely HATE the fact that we are even going to be selling two different bases simulatanously (temporarily) but there is really no other way around it. Unless we delay the release of the new products, or throw away a lot of labels, both bad options. I want to get everything changed to the new base as quickly as possible.

Cool - the name of the classic style scent will be revealed soon, but with our current theme, one may be able to figure out where we would go for that! The new base won't make Boreal too much different - the new base helps more with brighter notes like citrus.

I think you're implying that you will stick with the current geographical theme, which I think is great. Very excited to try the new scents and my current favorites in the new base!
