Smile Thanks so much, brother! I think I will... I've been doing "un-official comparisons" as part of recent reviews.

I saw that. Keep up the awesome work on your website.

I have a tiny bit of the classic left and rain forest and lots of the after shave left. I can’t wait for the classic scent to return! Kinda excited about that news!

Nice! Just to make sure nobody misunderstood, Classic isn't returning, but a scent in a similar style (with more citrus) is arriving soon!

Thanks for the hint that some scents will be going later. I totally get that in 'today's market' you have to evolve and scents will come and go.
I've come to really love Morocco and Himalaya, so I'd probably pick up a back up when the time comes.

BTW, one thing that sort of has surprised me since starting to use these scents is how well your concept works. Especially with these two, they create an ambience of a certain place rather than being a perfume type scent. Morocco for me is like an old church, an though it might sound odd, I just love old churches, they give me a special feeling, though I'm not religious.

The thing is because they are so evocative of space and not scents per say, they actually work super well with just about any 'traditional' after shave for me, the scent just goes on top of the environment, lol. So I've found that I prefer my soaps to be more off beat now, and then to follow up with a simpler aftershave, which is usually Myrsol for me right now.

Thanks for listening to that schpeel.

Yeah that's exactly it - "ambience" is definitely what we are going for. There are so many options out there for scents that just "smell good," so we are trying to be different with scents that are more bold and natural, and maybe smell like a place/nature/environment rather than a perfume. Some like it, some don't, but that's the price you pay for being different than everyone else.

It's always awesome to read when somebody really gets the concept - thanks for that!

I was fortunate enough to get to try the new base ahead of time and share some feedback with Ryan. The new base is a bit cleaner and lets the fragrances really shine. The previous base added a note that toned down/muted the fragrances a bit. Now that that is gone you'll experience the fragrances a bit cleaner and more refined. More similar to the aftershave scents.

Performance of the new base is absolutely outstanding, so it's certainly not a regression there at all. You can buy this one with confidence when it comes out knowing that the performance will be as good as it gets in comparison to everything else out there.

Personally, I put Tallow & Steel and Grooming Dept as my two best soaps with a noticeable lead over everything else ever made.

Thanks David!  That really means a lot. I will be sure to send the new stuff your way to add to your passaround box.

I was very impressed with the Grooming Dept Mallard base - really exceptional stuff. Since he’s doing well, maybe he could afford to hire a graphic designer though... Big Grin I kid Mohammad - damn good soap you make!

I have a question. If I was to order a T+S soap in, say, July from Topofthechain or Maggard how could I know which base I'm going to get...
Thanks
