There won’t be a fougere, but one is a bright fresh citrus with some light grassy/marine notes (think seaweed marine). That one may be to your liking!

Thanks Matt! One LE, two additions to our regular line.

Congratulations.

Thanks! It's even better in our new base. Once we launch our new base/scents we will slowly change over our current scents to our new base.

You are welcome.
I have a question regarding West indies aftershave if I may.

As I said I like the scent of the soap A LOT. While with the soap the scent of orange is dominant and the spices are in the background, with the aftershave the orange is there but it is dominated by the other spices. I also find it a litter more bitter (does the term apply to scents?). Assuming that my nose is right, of course, is there a technical reason for the difference between the two?

Glad you like it! It’s the same scent in both, and like jaxstraww explains below, the aftershave is always closest to the true scent. Soap is just an all-around bad medium for scent.

I've read enough on forums from the artisans that battle with their soap bases nonstop with frags. Literally dumping fragrance into a medium that does its best to fight the changeover.

I'm not a soap maker but reading that I can only assume some ingredients would need so much added that the costs would outweigh the sale price. With an aftershave your not fighting the base and can get to the scent you want.

My guess is what your smelling in the AS is the scent Ryan really was shooting for.

Correct! Thanks for the input.

That's good to know, I'll let the guys at CWS know and will be on the look out for updates.

Thank you Ryan and jaxstraww. Very clear.
I have to admit tha i have always done it backwards. Usually if I like a soap a lot I buy the aftershave as well, if available. So for me it’s a surprise if the AS is not exactly like the soap (or very close).

I'm glad I found this thread again! I'm not used to the notifications on this forum yet.

Ryan, So to recap -

- Two new scents and an LE with the new more scent transparent base

- One scent will be a marine-like scent (YES!)

- The old scents will slowly transition over to the new base.

Questions!

Any hints on the other scents?

With the old scents, is it just a matter of rotating out the old stock and all batches made thereafter will be the new base?

And lastly, I love the performance of your soaps so much, do you pinky promise that won't change? I use it a moisturizer post shave and even my hands feel better for it.

I’m glad you found it again too.

- Correct about the releases and the new base

- Not a marine scent, just a light grassy/seaweed note in the composure. It will make more sense when it launches.

- Yep, current line will slowly transition over once we use up the labels we have.

- A Citrus, a floral, and something more of classic approachable scent (In the same scent category as say a barbershop or our old scent Classic). We will announce them soon on Instagram.

- A hand moisturizer, nice! I haven’t heard that one yet, but there are guys on another forum who say their skin actually changes and becomes more soft/moisturized if they use our soaps for a few days straight. Same great post-shave with the new base. It’s very similar to our current base, just with some minor tweaking and some oils swapped out.

Cheers!

Thanks reply for the Ryan!

Looking forward to the new releases! I guess they will also all come with an aftershave option as well?
