Is that the knot you were thinking about having as an option for your handles?

No, but I may consider offering this one too as a high-end option… this one comes from a different supplier and I would have to try to work out a deal with them too. oh, and is way more $$ since it’s “hand-tied”.

It’s a killer knot IMO. One of the best I’ve ever tried…

The 2-band Manchurian SHD knots I ordered are expected to be delivered to me this week and I will test and provide pictures!

Razor: Wolfman WR2 (1.25 gap)
Brush: Trotter - Creador Oscuro w/ 26mm Trotter Manchurian T1
Soap: Ethos - Dragonsbeard (F-base)
Aftershave: Ethos - Dragonsbeard
Fragrance: Ethos - Dragonsbeard

First use of Ethos Dragonsbeard last night. I know others here on DFS love the scent, but I do not… I’ll give it a few more uses before giving up on it. Scent, for me, is a rather cloying amber/vanilla/tonka.

I liked the older, softer soap base more. The new F-base takes more effort to lather and the plastic tub is terrible to try to lather in. Why you’d put such an expensive soap in smaller diameter, cheap tub is a head-scratcher. And yes, I know you can spend even more money and buy a glass jar.

Anyways, no disrespect to Ethos, but Dragonsbeard was a letdown for me on the first use. I’ll give it another go soon and try my best to warm up to it! I went long on it and bought the entire set… so I really want to like it!

Wow. That sounds more of a sweet scent, maybe? Might be something up my alley. Might have to reconsider that scent.

The new brush knot looks awesome. Sounds like you found the badger you were looking for.

Yes, there is a sweetness in the mix. In a way, it reminds me of B&M Lavanille with the vanilla and darker scent profile. But there's also a note in there that is just too cloying for me. I'm not sure I can get past it.

And yes, thanks for noticing the knot! It's a winner. Glad I was able to find these after trying quite a few different 2-band knots. I hope they take off and folks want them with my handles. Definitely a premium knot!

Razor: Rex Envoy
Brush: TDR w/28mm Fanchurian knot
Soap: A&E Khalifa
Aftershave: Ethos Dragonsbeard
Blade: Wizamet

First use of Khalifa in the latest “K2e” base. The scent is nearly identical to A&E’s Cannabliss Santal, which is cool, since it’s one of my absolute favorite scents in the wetshaving world… however, I was hoping for something at least a little different and unique in regards to scent.

The performance was excellent as expected, but not that different from all the other A&E bases. This base has Emu Oil which supposedly is expensive and provides better post-shave. Ok, if they say so! Haha

Have a great day friends.

Well, I believe it. Emu oil... Have you tried to Milk an emu? It probably is an expensive and painful process.

I mean, look at that guy (girl?)... Darn fiesty!
