So, I finally got my hands on a V4 aluminum stealth slant after reading a ton of reviews and looking hard for a deal. I was able to come across one a forum member had, and I got it for a good price!

Now, I used it today with a brand new GSB, which is my favorite blade. Honestly, the shave wasn't the closest and it seemed really blade-ey if you catch my drift.

What is your experience with the stealth slant, and what blades do you like to use?

I used a Merkur Solingen slant and a Merkur Super Platinum blade. Then a Personna Red blade, my favourite.
There is nothing good that I can say about my experience. I am turned off slants.
My very ancient Rolls Razor and the Valet and Gems are so far superior that there can be no comparison.
My Parker 91R and all the ancient ones can be tilted at any horizontal angle I wish, for them to do successfully what the Merkur failed to do.

I sold my Stealth Slant as I felt it was overrated. My 39C and ATT S1 are better IMO.

I used to own one, but I found it a bit too light for my taste.  Performance was fine, but required more passes than I wanted to achieve my desired shave.

Well darn. I guess I'm going to have to hunt down an ATT S1 now. I like the slant concept, I get a wonderful shave with my Ikon 102, but it seems like I nick myself everytime I shave, even with what I consider a milder blade (personna lab blue).

My Slant V1 has a different angle than other razors and the poplar opposite to the Feather AS-D1.

With the Stealth, I hold the handle parallel to my face and tilt up until it starts to cut.

With the AS-D1, I hold the top plate against my face and tilt the handle down until it starts to cut.

Give it a few uses before making a final decision. I love the weight and shave I get from the Stealth.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

I will certainly use it more before I ditch it, I'm going to try a feather blade and some others I have to see how it does with a variety of blades. I've always read that it is super mild, but it didn't seem that way when I was using it.

I have one and to sum up my experience in one word: "meh".
It's not [to me] a very efficient razor.

I agree with your assessment. sold mine. Too light and not efficient. The Black Mamba is a wonderful shaver and the best RR shaver I have used.

i personally much preff the stainless version to the aluminum one in the slant. i own all versions of the rr slant and imo v4 was only okay
