Too bad that a razor you so diligently hunted down disappointed you. I've read mixed reviews of the RR Stealth. I don't think its a RR issue, I have the RR Black Mamba and its a really nice razor. I want to buy another one for my son but who knows when or if they'll ever be available.

I only have 1 slant, the ikon Shavecraft #102 slant, I really like it a lot. Very efficient and very comfortable, not bladey in any way. Its like you would have to try really hard to cut yourself yet it efficiently slices off that stubble. I used it today with the Gillette Stainless, I haven't settled on a favourite blade for that razor yet as I've only had it for a few months. I also love the Gillette Silver Blue. If you can get a hold of the #102 I'd give it a try. Ikon releases them in batches every few months so its possible to get a new one without a lot of hassle.

I have a 102. I knick myself with it a bit. I agree though it is much more efficient. when I find the right blade for it, I expect it to be a favorite. Most of the nicks I get from it are from previous irritation, so when I give it a break and go back to the 34c for a bit I will try it some more.

Thats interesting, I can't get mine to nick or cut me and I don't think there's anything special about my technique. I've been wet shaving for about 2.5 years so my experience level is average. I was a little intimidated by slants in the early days - I'd tried a merkur slant and it wasn't pretty. I was really hesitant about going slant again but I'm glad I did. I've heard of quality issues with ikons every now and then, I wonder if you might have a unit with some alignment issues or something? I use the slant once or twice a week and it does such a fine job I can't stop touching myself - on the faceSmile beamon calls it faceturbating.

Careful, you'll go blind. Smile

I received a 102 over Xmas and think it a nice slant. Agree it is on the moderate side but do think you may be able to generate some nicks if you don't use very light pressure.

I have found that slants in general require more focus on the pressure than other razors.

As to the Stealth, I have always enjoyed heavier razors so have shied away from the aluminum slant.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I'm learning more and more about light pressure with the 102.

Quick question, why can't I see some posts? I can't see Marko's last post even when kwsher quoted it.

Kevin, I agree that the 102, and I'm assuming slants in general require more focus than usual.

ditchdoc3071 I don't know why you can't see my posts. I'll check my settings and see if I'm doing something unusual.

That has been my experience.

ditchdoc3071 could it be that you inadvertently added Marko to your ignore list?
