Let me guess Andrew,  You prefer the movies from the Shire and Middle Earth... lol

as long as it's not science fiction and mostly fantasy, I'll typically watch it. Smile

:-) I liked all of the Ring and Hobbit movies too Andrew. I thought Jackson did a great job. I'd love to have a 3D version of the LOTR but if he ever made it I missed it. The 3D version of the Hobbit is wonderful IMO.

I couldn't stand more than 15 minutes of a Lord of the Rings movie I attempted to watch about 14-15 years ago..walked out of the theater. Tongue

I couldn't stand all the false endings on the last movie. It was about 30 mins long. I remember thinking to myself just get it over with already lol.

*Edit- referring to the last LOTR movie.

I was able to watch the LOTR movies and enjoyed them but have no desire to rewatch them or to see The Hobbit. I tried, three times, to read the LOTR and I could never get past page 10. For me, it was deadly dull.

LOR is my favorite trilogy ever made, and The Hobbit is just slightly behind it in second.

Gents, you are probably in the majority but I just couldn't get into it.  For me, Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy was more interesting, more readable, and more relevant to real life even though it was a fantasy series.  That is what makes reading so enjoyable; there is something for everyone.

LOR isn't for everyone. I happen to really like those type of books/movies, with dragons, and wizards, etc. I'm also a big fan of Game of Thrones.

Star Wars and Star Trek are about as far into the sci Fi/fantasy realm I go for reading wise. Movies I can tolerate more. But I can't for the life of me finish the first chapter of LOTR but can read a star wars/star Trek book in a few days.
