Stainless Steel vs. Titanium

I didn't think I cared about titanium until I started using titanium razors recently. The light weight seems to smooth things out and I've been really enjoying it. Very different feel from stainless.

Could this be the precursor to something big ? Like a Ti Blackbird ?

But this isn't a Blackbird-specific thing. Ti is just a lot cooler than I remember it being when I first used Ti razors a few years back. I'm a believer now.

Silver has been done, right? Didn't Gillette make razors in sterling silver back in the day?
The main problem with it is that it blackens very quickly. It is not an attractive patina like brass will give you. It is just tarnish, which looks pretty bad. So it requires a fair bit of work to keep the razor looking nice.

What about silver razor head? Noble metal, antibacterial, used for silverware for at least 2000 years.

More accurately, ANY injector from Blackland. An actual injector - not just another razor designed to hold an injector blade. Heck, if Shane came out with an injector made out of wood, I'd be in.

But, yeah...Ti would be sweet.

As has been mentioned, titanium is lighter. Whether that is a plus or a minus depends on user preference. From the razor maker's perspective, titanium is harder to mill.
Also, the appearance is different. Titanium doesn't have the luster of stainless. Consequently, it can appear almost gray as opposed to silver. Obviously, it is more expensive.

Titanium and it’s alloys indeed more or less
have half the density of series 300 stainless steel grades.As for milling difficulty ,from the more difficult to mill to the easier : Titanium grade 5 , 304 ss , 316L ss  ,titanium grade 2 and last comes the 303 grade stainless steel.

Titanium grade 2 can be polished to a mirror finish ,
like stainless steel.But can not hold the luster ,
as Ti grade 2 has low hardness .Grade 5 ,although being much more difficult to polish ,  will hold a luster longer than the 300 series steel grades,if not exposed to temperatures over 150C .
