We enjoyed sitting at your table sharing a meal youngunn . Thank you for inviting us to sit with you. And reminding me of what a beer shower tastes like Smile Your wife helped include mine, who felt out of place at first. I went to thank her as we were leaving but I think she had an important call. And yes, hawns totally has you...

Well, that was just one hell of a fun time. It was really nice to meet all of you, some of you I've known via phone and email for nearly 5 years. Not to take anything away from any of the other shave meetups, because they are fun and all serve the purpose of spreading the word about wetshaving and better grooming, but hawns really nailed this one. It was just fun and relaxed. My sincere apologies for showing up so late, but also my sincere thanks to everyone for being so understanding and sticking around.

And for the record, Malort is awesome. It tastes like a termite with an STD urinated into the bottle. It's that freaking delicious.

Thank you, but it was definitely a group effort to make this such a great event including both all the artisans and all the wonderful people who attended. And that's what makes the community so great.

Also, if Jepson's doesn't make that their tagline for Malort, then they are blowing it big time.

Gee, now I'm sorry I didn't try the Malort... or maybe not. Tongue

Just as an aside, I finally got up to the top of the Gateway Arch this morning and then took the light rail over the river to East St. Louis to the Malcom Martin Park for incredible views of downtown St. Louis. hawns, just one question.  When does St. Louis turn on the air conditioning outside?!  By 11:30 this morning it was 95 degrees downtown with a skin feel of 101!  Oy vey!

Nice shot! Also, good call to take the Metro across the river. That view with the historic Old Courthouse framed by the Arch is not only beautiful, but a nice juxtaposition of the old and new in the skyline.

As far as the weather goes, you may not believe me, but it gets worse. The 100 degree days with 70+% humidity make me seriously evaluate how necessary it is to leave my apartment.

Boy I wish this was an exaggeration, Freddy. But it's 100% the truth. I have a feeling our summer is going to be miserable. At least you came to visit in June- you don't want to be here touring in the middle of August.

I was just going to say Freddy, but Hawns and others already hit it, end of Jul and mid Aug is sweltering. This area plants so much agriculture that it forms a new weather pattern only now being studied. The transpiration, or "corn sweat" puts so much moisture back into the air on the hottest days, they form their own pop up thunder showers. But the breeze is blowing now, it wont in Aug. You can feel yourself melting just getting your morning paper.

Just another reason why our day was special. It was very pleasant.

As an aside, here is an article from last July describing corn sweat if you never heard of it before.
