Brian, (having read your Mongoose and OneBlade journals and now seeing this) all I can say is you are a pioneer of blade longevity! Which is especially remarkable when using a tool whose manufacturer recommends changing the blade after each shave. Great stuff!

Much appreciated Matsilainen. To be fair, I'm not getting this longevity from the blade the manufacturer recommends. Wink

I hope you'll give SE shaving a try if you haven't already. Happy2

I did notice that you are modding the Gem PTFE blades, and I’m all for that! Nice to know that the OneBlade isn’t limited to a single blade… I began my SE journey quite recently (instruments: Gem 1912, Gem Micromatic Flying Wing, Mongoose SS, AlumiGoose 2) and have been getting some of the best shaves ever.  Party

Thanks, yes it's a 1930's bakelite opening Injector made in the US. Very light and looks friendly but it's really aggressive and needs to be used carefully. Today's shave was not too bad so maybe it likes the Japanese blade.

I was thoroughly impressed by this newly acquired vintage Crabtree & Evelin Mysore soap. I wish the smell was a bit stronger, but even with what is left, this soap perhaps is one of the classiest shaving soaps I tried.

I 100% agree. I acquired one early on in the week with the much appreciated help of Nathan(Merkur Man). I have to say I was sceptical before first use, having seen Sodium Palmate as the first ingredient. We all know the dire performance of Trumper's soaps, these days, but this soap lathers beautifully. I am very impressed.

Hector, now that you are a few shaves in, how is the Roncel SE working out for you? Good shaves?

Yes. I have to say this is the best $25.00 stainless steel razor I have ever used. This is a unique and clever design hands down.

My two pass shave is super close and the razor is just amazingly easy to align and use. This may be my next travel razor, but it would make a fine daily driver also.
