I haven't tried a lot of the newer artisans or any of the fancy goats milk, or other fancy formulas.  From my own personal experience, tallow makes a big difference in terms of post shave feel.  I've heard Doug's CK-6 Base might be the one vegan soap to challenge that, but I haven't tried it.

My favorites so far for post-shave would be:
  1. Mystic Water
  2. Barrister & Mann
  3. Stirling
  4. WSP Formula T
  5. Cooper & French

In no particular order:

Mystic Water
A&E Kaizen
Grooming Dept - Nai & Kairos
B&M - Excelsior
Noble Otter - Not sure what the base is called
Soap Commander
Nuavia

I haven't tried Wholly Kaw Siero, Cutting Edge, or Ethos yet and I have a very difficult time getting a good lather from Zingari Man's new base, not sure what I'm doing wrong

Sebum Blue is the best for my face.

I have been mighty impressed with Tallow + Steel lately.

Not only my favourite soap/croap of all time but it’s cosmetic properties leave your face well hydrated and moisturized.  I sometimes whip up a lather and use it like a mask on my neck and face. Got some heavy sun a few days at the beach this summer and this cooled it down significantly.  The best post shave I’ve ever had.

There are quite a few more that are on point, but for me this is my desert island product

I haven't used them in a while (wasn't much of a fan of their scents tbh) but from memory, this base takes a ton of water and thus time.

My new favorite for post is Eufros...For me...the only one I’ve tried where I legitimately don’t need any post shave products...

I have used/tried many soaps, have otherwise normal skin meaning not too oily and not too dry and no known skin sensitivities but the very action of shaving removes enough skin that dryness is a real concern especially during the dryer and colder winter season. There are some nice and very creative soap scents/packaging out there but there are very few that excel at post shave feel and hydration.

For me nothing comes close to ETHOS (any of the soap scents) regarding post shave hydration. I feel well hydrated even without the matching ETHOS skin food/splash as the soap is just that good for my face. My personal favorite scents are Succes (pineapple/Aventis inspired) and Melange (grapefruit) but Greenfresh is something special to consider.

Nothing wrong with Pannacrema especially if I use the ETHOS skin food/splash or if I do not want a scent then Ahava (Dead Sea salts/minerals) men's post shave moisturizer serves the purpose. Those extra high priced fancy containers provide a smooth and slick shave but regarding post shave, for me, are no better than an inexpensive Arko stick.
