Sir Henry's Shave Soap & Balm Passaround

 everything is fine here wife no longer has tooth problems but now my 11 yr old has a viral infection and had to take him to the doctor........ how are you doing ??? by the way i think its supposed to get to you around monday... i hope it suits you....

Always think it's a little weird lathering a bowl instead of the whiskers, but have to admit it is fun!  Fine, slick lather.  More to come...

Currently wearing a Miami Vice/Don Johnson beard so only under the jaw and neck gets shaved at the moment.  Good test for a soap?

First impression was the blade is smoother with this soap than what I'd been using.  I've only had that occur once before with Tabac so I was impressed.  Went a round with the other soap and back to Sir Henry's to see if this anomaly held up and it did.  I thought SH's had a wide latitude for adding water, and had no trouble making a fine, thick lather in my hard untreated well water.  It developed the characteristic slick sheen and stayed stiff, firm, whipped cream like, I don't know how to describe it but it was a fine lather nonetheless and did not fall apart at all.

It rinsed from the face easily and even more important I think, it thoroughly rinsed from the brush.  No residual soap using the shavemac puff test.  Twice went without any post shave treatment and to my surprise my jaw and neck felt great.  I usually use Sea Breeze or ordinary witch hazel after a shave.

Due too oily skin did not use the Balm on my face.  Did use it on my weather and sun abused forearms.  Not greasy, absorbed right in and felt rejuvenated.  Really impressed with that application, really impressed.  

Regarding scent.  My smeller doesn't work so good anymore but I like the scent of both of these products.  But what matters most is so did my beautiful wife.  Good enough for me!  

This is some well thought out software at a very reasonable price.  Something from Black Tie Razor is going to be on the shelf just haven't figured which ones yet.  

There's still four or five shaves left if anyone is interested.  Best hurry cause it'll be one less each day that passes!

You need to try our stuff again. A proper brush and a little water, it just works. We chuckle at all these situations with guys using bottle water and jumping through hoops to shave.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it. It’s ironic you mentioned Tabac. That was our benchmark performer when we started.
Good news. We have LVS aftershave splash. It’s a close version to the sandalwood and it is alcohol free.

Maybe someday... My water is fine and the boar brush is okay. I am getting a better brush..

I use a boar about 50% of the time. If I had to only use 1 brush, it would be a boar.

Someone explain to me why Black Tie Razor Company offerings have not made a bigger splash with the DFS crew like it has on other forums (and like lesser soaps have done)? This maker has rapidly become my favorite. Eeyore, you named my experience exactly. Easy to lather. Stable as anything going. Walk off homer of a post shave. And scents that are perfectly thought out. They don't confuse the issue with 60 different scents. They have no reason to reformulate every batch. The stuff works and they offer it at a respectable price. Good gravy these guys build top shelf performers at a working man price and their balms and splashes are as great as their soaps.
