Great to see things!!
It’s a beautiful Lexus, you could eat off that gorgeous engine!

I have fun here, that’s what this forum is for….fun!
Of course all good not trying to show off or anything lol as I sold my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Limited due to high Demand and got this used Lex from a Pilot that I knew he kept it in brand new condition rarely driven…

But my wife Corrola still hanging on  Big Grin Which she takes my car most of the time and I drive corrola which is a nice car too..all about reliability and fuel efficiency..

Great choices Alan. Corollas (most Toyotas) will outlive us, I think. Lol. They're workhorses.

As Lexus is made by Toyota, you're in great hands there, too.

Absolutely right 100% I never had any issues with all my Toyotas except my wife’s old 2018 Corrola with stiff suspension and even tho there was nothing major with it just annoying clocking sound when you turn but those models were built like that and not much can be done or avoided as even tho you can replace same issue would arrive unless you change for different never model of Corolla in our care is what we did for 2021 used but good…

As per my Lexus lol I would never in my mind know that I would own one but situation arrived that someone offered me overprice for my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Limited as production is very slow and hard to obtain one that’s why I was lucky to get one and knowing the person who had what I actually like and “Timing is Everything” as they say!!

Our Corolla went into the body shop on the 2nd for minor parking lot damage. It's still in the body shop. I'm driving a rental Mitsubishi Outlander that's just... well, let me put it this way, I don't see me buying one. There are just too many things about it that are in the category of, "Now who thought that would be a good idea?". For instance, trip data, like MPG and such is prominently displayed right in front of the driver. The speedometer is off to the side. Seeing the speedometer is sorta important and is used frequently. Trip data not so much. It took me 9 days to figure out how to figure out how to get it into Park while the engine was running. I figured out early on that shutting the engine off automatically put it into park, but the button on the side of the gear selector? No that doesn't work to get it there. But to move from drive to reverse, that side button must be used. I called the local dealer and he was no help. Told me to use the button. Then I got the bright idea to just start pushing things. Shazamm! On the gear selector there is a lit section that indicates when the car is in park, it  does NOT look like a button. Guess what? It's a button. They have the side button to go into reverse, but a different button to put it into park. The Outlander is loaded  but does it a self driving feature (Lane tracking assistant coupled with cruise control) ? No. A very strange mix of features. Yes, it has cruise control but both are required for what I call self driving.

I eagerly anticipate getting our Corolla returned to us. Maybe today?

This winter my truck stopped running. Just stopped and wouldn't start and run. I took it to the dealers shop. Because it wasn't running they couldn't hook it up to the computer to diagnose it. So we decided to trade it to buy a new one. It was 16 years old anyway and anything could go wrong with it, so in our view it was time. It was a very low mileage truck. My neighbor asked me if he paid me what the dealer was giving for it could he have it? Sure! I made no promises which he understood, so he could be buying junk, again understood. He got it home and replaced the fuel pump and it ran. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know how to check the pump on it for function, but I think I could figure out to disconnect a line to see if I get fuel. My neighbor has a full size truck loaded with all sorts of stuff and he's afraid to take it into the willywacks to go fishing. Now he has one that he'll take there. I'm glad to see that he has it. But really? A mechanic couldn't figure out it wasn't getting fuel enough to run? What they wanted to do was tear the engine apart to see what was going on inside. I'm no mechanic, but I'm not stupid. I knew it wasn't mechanical inside the engine, and I wasn't going to allow that at $135/hr.

We have had a Tacoma on order now for MONTHS, we got a call from the dealer last week telling us that they were about to build it. Maybe we'll see it by June, but maybe not. If we wanted a truck that is loaded with all sorts of creature comfort stuff we could have had it immediately... and paid another $10k for all that stuff. No, I just want a truck that I'm not afraid to get "Maine racing stripes" on. They happen when plowing snow and rubbing against something.
I’m sorry that your going trough this I know it’s not easy and completely feel you, my wife had 2018 Corrola and nothing wrong the car as I maintain it so well I should be Toyota/Lexus technician lol but anyhow this particular model had stiff suspension and when you turn wheels there is loud “clunk” noise and after me personally investigating it taking for a ride since Toyota technician could find issue and I have discover there is control arm bushing become worn out but need to be replaced due to is flaw it’s just the way this Generation of Corrola is made that’s all so due to it high demand of Toyota’s and especially corrolas here in Canada we sold it 2k less what she payed for imagine and for her nive 2021 Corrola Se with 2.0 engine 8spd it’s a Lexus engine pretty much what I have on my 2021 NX except I have turbo she doesn’t still who cares it’s reliable and bullet proof if you maintain it proprely
that’s all..[Image: xyTOSYJ.jpg][Image: bXHgXev.jpg]

Now for wait times for New Toyota’s forget about it’s crazy and demand is so high impossible to get the hands on one even if you have money to toss for brand new one lol imagine…

I sold my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Limited for 50k more than I payed for and I was lucky as they say “timing is everything” well sometime not all the time and I got my 2021 used Lexus NX premium package imagine I would of never thaught of that how crazy it is…[Image: bREjNmE.jpg]

The couple who bought my Toyota RAV4 limited waited 18 months for same car and nothing even tho they put down 10K wow that must be a blow and frustrating..

I wasn’t trying to show of here with “Lexus” but good intention thoughts and different topic hope folks don’t take it wrong way as I’m not that type to show off never been been driving my Wife’s Corrola lately as she is taking my Lexus most of the time lol..

I hope you get what you want and sometime that’s not easy esspeceally as I see people putting deposit for new cars wait time over the year and plus depending what it is it’s out of this world..but as always hope for the Best…for all of us.

Best Regards

Alan H

According to the dealer the reason for the wait is that there is a list of folks wanting what I want... A truck intended to be a truck, and not a living room on wheels. Toy' makes lots of the latter and not many of the type I want. But I'm next on the list and we're just waiting for it to come off of the assembly line. I don't need it tomorrow. November is when I'd start to get antsy 'cause a snowplow needs to go on it. I like to clear my own snow 'cause I know how I like it no matter how good a job my neighbor does.

As far as the Corolla, they're waiting for minor parts that get painted at the factory to come in. Could have taken the car today but I'd have to bring it back in a week to have the minor parts installed. Phooey on that. I'll put miles on the rental this weekend and keep them off of the Corolla. I paired my phone with the Mitsubishi today so I'll have my music for the miles. That makes interstate driving so much more tolerable. The rental has more room for gear and other than critical gear that gets packed at the last minute* it's loaded and ready to go.

*I have two matches to shoot this weekend and the firearms never spend the night in the car. I don't need or want to arm the folks who should never have firearms. Odds are they'd never be stolen due to where I live, but why take any chance at all, however remote the possibility is? I never thought a cop killer would ever be on my land either and that happened 4 years ago, so "stuff" happens that we can't foresee. No, the firearms get loaded into the car right before the car leaves for each competition.

I love a solid hoopty! Stickers, gas and oil change! I let my job furnish me with a work truck, I’m not investing in depreciating assets. Trying to be done working by 45!

Autos are the worst possible "investment" anyone can make, good if you can get one from an employer. Precisely why I put as little $ into them as possible. They are transportation and workhorses for us. Then we drive them into the ground. The last truck we used for 16 years and before that the Prius we had for 13.
