Personally, I've been doing reviews of different things for several decades but I have not reviewed a product that I did not buy. I simply feel that is an essential part to assure independence and at a minimum not a "promoted" report.

I have $20 the Shave Den Merkur user is the mod who accused me of prejudice for using a joke first broadcast on THE POCHO HOUR OF POWER on KPFK and replying to his PM threatening to ban me explaining the joke in spanish.

I did a search on The Shave Den. There is no member "Merkur" there, at least not anymore. If a mod at one of the other shave forums gives you grief, why not just tell him to get bent? There is nothing they have there that DFS doesn't have better.

I wont go into B&B because Freddy is probably upset now. Merkurman made all of 37 posts on Shave My Face, mostly about English shaving soaps. His last post there was in April 2006, over 11 years ago. His last post on The Shave Nook was 2 years ago, and it seems most of his activity was BST. I did not see any Merkur blade pimping there in any of his posts. To be honest, he does not seem to have been present much and so not anyone at all to worry about. Good for you for telling abusive peeps on the other places to eff off. But sometimes it is best to adopt the dog's approach to life: If you can eat it or mate with it, then piss on it and walk away.

It is one thing to call out B&B, TSN and any other miscreant forum or vendor. That gives newbies a heads up so they don't wind up having a negative experience. To go on and on about it in multiple 300 page threads is a little much, though. IMHO, so is all the constant wandering down rabbit holes that have everything to do with politics and little or nothing to do the old school shaving. Is this forum about traditional shaving or political / moral / philosophical crusades? Are we Damn Fine Shave or Damn Whine Shave? I think we are Damn Fine Shave and should stick to wetshaving. The near constant fretting and hand wringing over irrelevant details and past slights does us little good. We have a future waiting for us, and the shaving will be fantastic!
