The Proline B-20 yesterday was tugging to much. It was on the 10th shave and I should have pulled it out the day before. But, it gave me a reason to switch out some stuff!

I received a new dispenser of the Schick Proline P-30 blades and was itching to try one again. They were my favorite AC blade before the fitting issues with the Vector. Fantastic shave this morning! I now have way too many AC blades for my one AC razor, so it might be time to reduce the stash!

Shave awesomeness! These Prolines are simply tops for me. So smooth and efficient for my face. The brush is the very cool-looking Stirling handle with the apshaveco Luxury mixed badger and boar knot, 24mm if I remember correctly. Dave in KY cleaned out the socket of the handle, which originally had that very stiff counter knot in it! I should have taken an action shot or two, as this knot lathered up so well and shattered the soap puck into a handful of chunks that I had to reassemble!

That brush looks great! If I'm correct, it's a mix Boar / Badger? The intermingled dark hairs absolutely tie in the color at the base of the handle. An absolute improvement, IMO.

Yes, it's the 70/30 mix, if I remember. Dave and I had joked that this was a shop counter brush, those bristles could be used for scraping paint!

Lol. Well, it looks like you found your brush to put a quick end to languishing tubs of soap... as well as act as an impromptu home defense mechanism.

I'm so glad you posted this today... it gave me inspiration.

First, here is an "action shot" of the mixed badger/boar knot from today's shave.

Second, I just received a new to me synthetic brush. It looks fantastic in person, and feels oh-so soft and dense. It reminds me of the SynBad, but more dense. And it seems to splay well dry. So tomorrow I will most likely give it a go instead of the planned boar brush. Here is a very lightly used Calyx from Wald Shaving. And my thanks to the member here for selling me this brush.

That's a nice looking brush Eric. If it behaves wet like you are describing dry, I predict it will be one of your top performers. Enjoy![Image: 20c31e7ef3c86257ccfe0bb8d9872ccf.jpg]
