Eric, How close are you to Lewiston Maine ? Please check in that you're okay. Just saw a news report of an active shooter there with 22 dead.....shooter at large as of my seeing it.

Edit, since the log shows that he was last seen on The Forum 6 hours ago I'm going to assume that he was not involved in any way in what took place earlier than that. Good to know!

I keep checking back for a response. Hope everything is ok with you Eric.

From what I can tell, this took place maybe an hour South of Eric? Hopefully it's far enough away to be safe. I'm praying for you, as well as everyone caught in this tragedy.

Thank you all for the prayers and concern. I heard about it after I got home from work, and stayed up too late following the developments.

Yes, as Paul noted, Lewiston is an hour south on the Interstate from us. Waterville (we live quite close to the town border) is also on the Interstate, but there are cameras at toll plazas and elsewhere.

It is shocking and scary, and also shocking that it happened at all. Like so many of the mass shootings over the (sadly) decades, those close by are surprised it happened. I'll stop now for it is difficult to keep my mouth shut and don't want to break forum rules. I think you all get the idea!

In a less important topic, I think I have one more shave left in the Stirling Unscented with Beeswax!

As you've probably all seen, the guy killed himself. Par for the course. But not after 48 hours of shelter in place for thousands of folks in that area, and tearing apart many family and friends. A sigh of relief, but now the recriminations, the accusations, the pleas to do something, and the final result being NOTHING.

To make up for the rather bleak post above, here are some things that help me stay sane!

Woo hoo!! 96 shaves, by my count. This tub arrived in early January 2021, and gave its last bit of lather yesterday.  Happy

Today, the next 2021 purchase, made in late July, 2021 was on deck. Mike's Natural unscented has been in my soap drawer almost since day 1. It and Mystic Water Soaps were first purchased within a few weeks of starting this journey, with Shannon's Soaps to follow within a few weeks of that. I want to use up the soaps purchased in 2021, then maybe either rotate again or move on to 2022. In either case, my plan is no more soap purchasing!

This is the set up for next week, but I wanted a starting photo for the soap tub, and this was taken after I lathered and shaved today with Mike's wonderful soap. The razor is the Masamune from Tatara, and the brush is a Klenzo handle restore by Freddiep318ti with a Maggard 20mm SHD badger.

Good plan. Good luck! (Nice photo too. The mug is an eye-catcher, and it compliments the soap label very nicely, Mr. Pharmacist.)

Thanks, Mike! That awesome shave mug appeared in my mailbox due to the generosity of our esteemed member in KY!

Faithful reader, you are hearing it first here. MY has decided to part ways with his titanium Vector. It should hit the B/S/T tomorrow.
