August Goodies!

What's it gots in its boxes we wonder, yes Precisous!
Chris did some outstanding plating for me on 4 of my vintage favorites.
First, my favorite open comb, the Gillette New long comb. This great razor came to me courtesy of Paul D, and I don't recall exactly why he chose to gift it to me. I do remember saying I wish I could try a comfortable open comb razor, and probably mentioned that I had a NEW short comb that I decked out in black chrome and copper at Delta Echo. To that point, Paul sent me the LC version so I could check it out and let me keep it! Here is a recent "before" photo of this razor, followed by the 24K gold replate (not a gold wash, so it should stay shiny for some years now!).
And my favorite (and only) Gillette Tech, the pre-War triangular lather slot version. Again, I had one from Delta Echo when I first got into DE shaving and in 2016 willfully jumped into the vintage Gillette rabbit hole. Then I read about the triangular lather slot version, found a good looking one and bought it. Practically a perfect razor for me. And a modern favorite of mine, the Karve Christopher Bradley, was modelled after the Tech.
My smoothest and most favorite GEM, a Damaskeene stamped GEM Cutlery on the back. This was gifted to me by Dave, and it is probably my favorite vintage razor. It is just so smooth and efficient for me.
And my next favorite, the Gem Junior with that beautiful handle! It was the handle that had always caught my eye, and then reports that it was "mild" sold me on this one. I do prefer the Damaskeene, but this is still a superb shaver for me.
And now the piggy bank is depleted and maybe even in the Red!
