Second: 33. While not nearly as significant as 42, it represents how many days until meeting a personal goal. It is the number of days left before I mark 1 year of daily shaves. Since beginning shaving with a puck of soap, a brush, and a safety razor, I did not have such a goal in mind. And during the year of the Big Suck (2019 for us), I shaved when necessary or when I needed some time to relax and regroup. But 5 months ago, I noted I hadn't missed a shave for half a year! This is when it became a "thing" for me, something I wanted to do. Just another aspect of our strange but fun grooming like grandpa!

This was to be the set up this week, and for the most part it has, except that I haven't switched the brush yet. I am really enjoying the Maggard boar knot that Paul (MrDoug) gave me in the JR#431 handle. For the last of the week, I may stay with it or I may switch out to the other Maggard boar, in the Ever Ready handle from Paul. Either way, I am having great shaves and remembering the fun of DecemBoar (only 5 months away, lol!)

Hope you all are well!

Those Maggards Boar knots are awesome, aren't they. After NovemBoar I cleared out most of my Boars. Only kept the Maggards (in the Fluffy handle). I should pair down my synths, too... But it's like choosing which child to get rid of. Lol.

Oh that made me snort and laugh! too true!

First, I took it as humor

Second, that's an awesome achievement and rooting for you to finish and continue it. I've come close a few times to ending my streak. Who knows when I will and we'll have you to pick up and carry the gauntlet for us when I do.

You have too much faith in me! lol, I will be the first to faint if I break 2 years, let alone reach the tally you have! But it has to stay fun, right, no grumpy shaves to check a box! I have had a few that I had to really make myself do, but once I started, the calm and enjoyment overcame the desire to not shave. Don't know how that will work if I have a nasty cold, but we can only wait and see!

Best of luck on the check-up Eric. Hope it's a 10/10 too!

Great looking shave set-up.

As much as I love the G5A knot and the Zombie Genes handle, I figured maybe I needed a smaller knot to try in that small B&S Nil tin. So I switched to my Fluffy Industries 86S with a 24mm Cashmere.

Nope, more messy. But what a fun messy!! And we are down to 28 days left.

In home news, the appointment went very well, and my wife has been cleared so no further need to go to Boston regarding that topic! But what a long day again, even if shorter, if that makes sense! Construction is in full swing on the interstate and highways, so we did our fair share of inching forward. Four hours down, 1 hour waiting for 20 minute appointment, lunch in the hospital cafeteria (not a bad burger and fries!) then the long ride home through more delays and construction. On the way home, right as we got to Augusta and only 20 miles left, it rained as if it were recreating the Flood of Noah! We almost stopped, and just crawled along at 30-40 mph as visibility dropped to 20 feet or less. Wipers on hyperspeed, rain falling in buckets, and an inch or so of water on the road surface. I could feel hydroplaning happening as I attempted to change lanes, and I dropped the speed even lower. Exciting, but scary and tiring, too! So we got home, made chicken salad with the leftover rotisserie chicken, and watched some Call the Midwife before I fell asleep and was told to go to bed!
