We are both so appreciative and thankful that "strangers" would be thinking and praying for us! It was an extremely long, trying day (for patience!) but everything went very well once they finally got her into surgery and we got come around 1:30AM our time. (The surgery scheduled before my wife's laparoscopic surgery ran over by several hours, so her start time was pushed from 2:30 to 5:30pm. We left Boston around 10PM.)

We are both taking a slow day today, with her sleeping a lot and me trying to soothe my aching backs and legs. I have to wonder how much is due to our car, as we spent 7 hours round trip in it, and how much was no good seating. The hospital closed the waiting rooms, so you have to find some place to "camp out" while waiting. A nurse or doctor calls you to update you as the procedure progresses, but with only hard outside benches or metal cafe chairs, my bum was aching!

Thank you all very much!

So sorry for the ordeal that befell the two of you Eric, but at least as thankful for the successful outcome. Pampering yourselves today sounds like the definitely right move.

All righty, let's get to it!

I have a few razors up in the BST that haven't moved in two separate sales, so I decided to sell them in lots with Fire Sale prices! They are fine razors but I have others I reach for more so they need a new home! I also put a soap up and I am curious to see if any will want a "used" soap, even if only once. I have bought or received some and while others may shudder, I fall back on "it's soap. SOAP!" I will admit to wiping off one or two, just in case cooties from travel got under the lid! But I like vintage razors and never think twice about them. heck, I remember shaving the other day with a new to me injector and partway through the shave I paused, thinking, "I didn't soak this one," and then continued shaving!

My wife is doing as well as can be expected post surgery. Her underlying condition makes things more painful, but she tells me she feels better all the time. Warning: if poo is upsetting or not a topic to discuss with you, skip the rest of this paragraph! You have been cautioned. Without a gallbladder, we have been told that if she eats a high fat meal, the stool collected in the ileostomy pouch may be more foul-smelling (doctor's word) than anything previously encountered. So we are awaiting the results of bacon and eggs, with plenty of bacon made by me (you don't put back just 2-3 strips into the fridge, you fry 'em up and enjoy their bacony-goodness!)

The last 2 days I have used some boars that may not have seen use since DecemBoar or early January. My big 'ol Fluffy 27mm Copper and a 26mm Jayaruh #431 were used.

What they had in common was even though I overloaded (60+ seconds), both thinned out and needed at least 1 return to the puck. No biggie, but i don't recall this happening in December. Maybe because I was doing all this breaking in lathering and such. I wonder if a boar sits for months, does it need to be "reintroduced" to soap first? I will most likely use the brushes again and find out. But that is my theory: boars work better if used consistently, and they eat more lather if left alone too long!

Hope you all have a good rest of the weekend!
