This is for my workaday grind, the one gifted to me by my wife in 2006 or '07. Cleaned it a couple of times, still doing well! I have a hand towel that I wrap around the base in the morning to muffle the sound. She insists she can't hear it, but I don't believe her, so I muffle it anyway! Sounds like a jet, how can you not hear it?! The hand grinder is for days off, when I can be more zen during the process!

Nice and you're a good Hubby to silence the tool !

I was expecting some handles (for razors) yesterday, but this happened instead.

It is blueberry season, so I guess the handles are touring the various flats!

For the coming week, starting today:

The Fluffy Industries Copper is just a Wow combo with the 30mm Timberwolf knot, loads of great lather and I just want to keep applying it! Maybe I should. Then people will either steer clear of me, thinking I may be rabid or unstable. In any event, Thanks Again, Fluffy /Ken for the wonderful brush!

And if you looked closely at the photo, you are not seeing double. No need to adjust the settings on your device. I am trying the Dave in KY 1508.5-thing on the big ring in the tub of Mike's Natural Soap. So most days will be Haslinger Aloe Vera, and in-between days the Mike's. Also, two brushes. Because. The 30mm will help the soap go down sooner, but I like a little variety. So I may sneak some other Timberwolves into the week's setup (given the hot, humid weather, the Trotter Handcrafts Northeast Ice seemed appropriate). We'll see. And lastly, two razor handles. I ordered both Halo handles in a moment of madness, rationalizing that I could sell the one I didn't pair with the Hawk. So the shorter is the SS version, and the longer is the titanium version. And wow, titanium is light! They should make aircraft out of this stuff  Exclamation . I switched back and forth and the verdict is out. More testing needed. But what I did notice is that with the Ti handle, I tended to zip around more, almost treating the razor like a cart because it felt so light. With the SS handle, I was more aware of the sharp end. So to remind me, the blade gave me a love nip when I was to zippy! I hope I learned my lesson.

Have a restful and wonderful Sunday, y'all!
[author's note: I am not from the South, but my wife is, and her folks are Deep South. So I hear y'all a lot. I think I used it correctly. There is another format, "all y'all" which when I think I get it, then I put it into the closing, and it doesn't read right. So more studying is needed for this Northerner to "get it"!!]

Nice read and plan Eric. On the Southern slang, when you get the y'all figured out we'll move you on to how to use "yin" Big Grin

I did something differently during the shave today. I needed to be quick so we could get to appts on time. So I tried a WTG pass followed by an ATG pass. Face felt smooth, and not irritated. Waiting to see how long it lasts. Downside, I only got to lather twice! The razor was a Hawk with a Proline on shave 4.

At appt now, then home for chores and hopefully a little rest!

Tough news at the MaineYooper/TNinME home. (wife is from Memphis, so we're both "from away" as Mainers say!)

My wife had a scoping done a couple of weeks ago, investigating gall bladder and the common bile duct, as the duct looked enlarged and blocked with gall stones. The tissues sample results came back and we got the MD calling personally to tell her that they are either pre-cancerous or cancerous (with a slight chance of a false positive on the test). In any case, they want to schedule surgery asap to remove the gall bladder (for the stone problem), but now it is more urgent. We don't have a surgery date, but we are going to take whatever is offered so we can nip this in the bud as soon as possible.

I wanted my friends to know, because I know you'll support me/us and just knowing that helps! I think Tim said something last week like God only gives us what we can handle, so I guess He has more faith in us than we do! All kidding aside, I will try to stay active, as this forum and you guys have been a rock for me these past two years with all that has happened in our lives. If I am even more goofy or "out there," that is part of how I cope. Other times, I may just crawl under the covers and hide for a day!

Thanks folks, for reading and for support!
Eric

I have no idea where to begin. This is so unfair and I am so sorry Eric. You need to try to keep positive though... for yourself and for your wife. She needs that support.

I am praying for you folks.
