In the name of Science, I used 2 brushes this morning!! First pass with with the new 28mm SynBad knot. The 30mm SynBad brush from AP Shave Co. has been my favorite, softest brush. Floppy, I guess, is how some would describe it. It is super soft and I don't find it springy, like most Plissoft synthetics. 8 months or so later, I added a 26mm SynBad. Again, great brush for me. Last year I added a 28mm Summer handle brush. Not as soft, actually felt pokey to my sensitive mug! Comparisons seemed to indicate it has a lower loft than the other 2. So the 28mm knot was set at about 13mm, using 2 of those beer washers, in the maple handle. It was softer than the Summer handle (which has been gifted away), but still not as soft as the 26mm and 30mm. But I think it is a keep. I am not sure I can set it any higher, 3 washers would probably push the knot out! But it is significantly better than the Summer, so I am happy.

I am overjoyed with the 26mm 2 Band Extra Dense synthetic (2BED)! Wow, this knot is huge, super soft, splays very well, and is just slightly less soft than my 30mm SynBad. And in the Dark Side of the Moon handle, is quite the brush! I used this brush for the second and touch up passes.

The razor was the Parker adjustable set to 4. I am so happy with the SE razors that I am finding it difficult to use my DEs! I will make up my mind to use one, then come morning, I reach for a single edge instead. The Parker is so mild to my face, that I wonder if I am shaving anything. But after rinsing between passes, sure enough, the whiskers have been removed.

I hope to take the cashmere for a spin tomorrow, but I am so over the moon with the 2BED that I want to use it again!

Paul makes some fantastic handles, they feel great in my hand. The DSotM handle is a bit of a Weeble (remember those old toys?!). It wobbles a bit when place on end, but that is no issue! Just funny to watch me react, thinking it is tippy over!

Hope the day goes well for all!

Great they all have a place for you. I have the same Weeble effect on my maple. Hasn't fallen down yet so I named it Weeble.

Yep, I don’t cut a big flat base on my handles. I like the way a more curved base feels in the hand.

They will all stand on their own on a flat surface, but you will get a little wobble if you set them down quickly, etc

A lathered brush is a happy brush! Looks like a great lather to crown the end of a week.

While I didn't get a lather picture, this morning I used the cashmere AP Shave Co knot in the handle that just asked for that knot. Wow, what a knot. I think it rivals my 26mm and 30mm SynBad knots for softness, it was a joy to use. Speaking of a joy to use, this morning saw the Schick injector type G with a fresh Schick "chick" blade. I had forgotten how audible this razor is, remembering only how easy it shaves. Another Wow from me! My sought after Refreshed face feel, and another Really Comfortable Shave. After being chewed up during my last DE shave, which was most likely from the blade being free floating in a plastic bag and jostled in the drawer, I have been hesitant to use my Karve. Mainly due to the fantastic shaves my single edges have been providing. So I decided to embrace the single edges for a while and enjoy the shaves without worrying about rotations or use stats.

This coming work week will be the Vector with a fresh from the pack (ie, not banged around in a paper sleeve) Kai Capt Titan Mild, the the Type G on days off. Not sure what soap yet, I haven't used my Top 3 for some time, as I went nuts with the Buy It Now button and added six other soaps, plus some samples! Ah, the simple life!

Hope the weekend treats us all well!

Edit: I decided to use Stirling unscented soaps this week. I have a tub of the Beeswax, and recently received samples of Naked and Smooth as well as Sheep. So now that is decided!

Brushes? who knows, most likely the new knots and handles. This afternoon, I put a 30mm Maggard Timberwolf into what I call the Groovy handle from Trotter Handcrafts.
