I need to get some silicone, and then make a valiant first attempt! I will most likely be asking questions once I get all the pieces. Thanks again for the advice already posted!

It really is more daunting in perception than in action. I found the hardest part is leaving it alone for 24 hours so it can set. Must... Play... With... BRUSH!

I'll throw my 2 cents in on Silicone, etc

The Hardman stuff that comes in the packet is my favorite Silicone to use:

One of the packets will easily set 2 or 3 knots and it sets pretty solid (for a silicone that is). I've never once had a knot pop out with this stuff.

I've used the RTV Permatex Silicone a lot too. When dry, its more flexible and therefore super easy to pull a knot out, but I'm not liking it for a long-term solution. If you were testing knots and different depths, this would be a good choice!

For synthetic knots in the 26mm range, I like to set at a depth of 15mm. For most 26mm badgers, I like ~17mm depth... however, for SHD fans that splay out a lot, I like 19mm or 20mm depth.

For adding height to an already drilled hole, you can use quarters, but that also adds weight. I've been using Grolsh Beer Bottle Gaskets... plus, then I have justification to buy a beer or 2

Oh, one other trick that I forgot to mention!

Get a thin, flexible piece of plastic and tape it together in a cylinder shape. Then slide your knot into it prior to seating in the handle...

This will prevent the knot from pulling out (due to the force of the splay) when the silicone is trying to set.

Also, it’s just a lot easier and can avoid a mess.

Vector Shave #4

Best to date, and my face has that refreshed feeling! I will finish out this week, and then, soon, try the Prolines again. As I said, the Prolines are great, and I don't think it was the blade as much as me and my technique with this razor. So I put on the "training wheels" and have been working on technique. Funny story, my wife was in the bathroom the other day while I was shaving and asked me a question or something. When I didn't respond, she said "you didn't respond" and I said I was concentrating on the shave. She then said, which I did hear, if shaving with that deadly instrument (the Vector) requires that much care and attention, why do you do it? Just quit taking you life into your hands!" This was good natured, as I know printed word can't convey tone. So I explained a little, about closeness and wearing masks, and that this razor, when I can handle it well, is tops for that kind of shave. She smiled, nodded and went back to her stuff at her sink. Not sure if she believes me! But she knows I am happy, and given the stressors this life gives, she is happy even if she'd rather have me out stargazing and sharing sights rather than shaving and sharing points about lather and brushes and such!!
