I have said it before, but it bears repeating: this is an great group of guys to spend time with.

From time to time I lurk a bit here.  To this point, I have refrained from giving any knot setting advice.  Based on my vast reservoir of knowledge (based on setting one knot), I would recommend keeping the silicone or any other adhesive inside the handle and avoid smearing it on the brush.  I am not disclosing how I came to know this piece of handy information.

I will further advise you that when someone you are speaking with uses words like "hence", they are likely billing you by the hour. If they add "hither, thither and yon", check your wallet. If they ratchet it up to "whilst", look out below.

What a day at work. Just wanted to get that off my chest! Vague, I know, but not really worth going on about. All good now, unwinding at home, and I see a box from Blackland Razors in the mail pile! Woo hoo!

Also, Dragonsbeard Ethos Clean is fantastic! I have got to dial back my load time, but wow, what a great lather! I am surely loading too much, but I sure am enjoying the abundance of lather!

Vector Shave #3

In a word, Outstanding! No irritated maskne, just smooth sailing for a finish, as Dave Dave in KY says, is glassy! I foresee no mask hitching on whiskers today. I loaded 10 seconds less on the Ethos Clean, and still had bountiful lather. The soap seems to like a bit more water, but that just makes it perfecter!

In the "I have too much money and need to buy shave stuff" (aka as "Help! I can't stop spending!"), I am sitting with a Vector inkwell stand a cart on Blackland's website. I also posted in a BST that I was looking. I should probably do that here as well. After getting a stand for the Karve, I just like have the razor upright when on the counter. But most folks seem to love the Vector, so I am doubtful of finding a used inkwell stand. Thank goodness they are fairly cheap new (again, "fairly cheap" = "look at me rationalize spending more dough!").

Have a great day all who stop this way!

Posting Freak
In the whole scale of things almost every wet shaving product is relatively “cheap”. That’s the bait that sucks you into the trap, the perception of  low cost. You have to look at your global, total spend. Man those cheap items add up.  Confused

Here is my upcoming craft time project.

Paul Stubble Daddy is providing these beauties :

And AP Shave Co is providing these knots:

I need to get some silicone, and then make a valiant first attempt! I will most likely be asking questions once I get all the pieces. Thanks again for the advice already posted!

I am excited to try this, hoping I got some of my Dad's skill with manly crafts!
