80 ml spritzer bottles for aftershave splashes, especially if you've bought the 400 ml bottle. I prefer to spray directly onto my face and rub it around rather than dump a lot onto my palm.
You typically find the bottles in the section of the drug store that has small containers for stuff you want to carry on to an airplane.

Peel the label from an empty, or print one off, and wrap it with clear packing tape.

The blue one is nice and big but can still fit in between the base plates of a Gillette Slim Adjustable.
Also in the lather slots of a Henson AL13, through the three holes on a Old Style base plate, under the clamp spring on many Schick Injector razors, you name it.
Great tips. I’m heading out for those spritzer bottles tomorrow. Too many aftershave bottles have poor to no flow restrictors leading to frequent spills/waste. Makes sense to spray it directly on the face. Other tips excellent too.

For the head shavers like me who shave before showering.

A nice head towel that is sewn like a cap. I also recently read an old barber tip about putting pre-shave or lather on before the hot towel, so I have taken to doing that, so far I like it.

I was reminded of these, earlier this morning... Bouki shared this with us, not too long ago. I don't see it in this thread, so time to repost.

These disposable eyelash brushes work pretty well for cleaning razors. You get 100 for under $10, usually, depending on where you shop. Simple tool to clean the nooks and crannies of a razor. I usually run the eyelash brush over my Zingari brush cleaner first, so it has the added power of a "soap clearing soap". [Image: 7c8755507d42b580535037a21eb47625.jpg]

Once my son gets his 3D printer back up and running I might commission a flotation collar for the bowl.

The red silicone rubber waffle pad prevents the razor from scratching the finish on the sink.

That Gollum comment made me laugh!!

These are "hacks"? that most of you probably know about but if you are new to wet shaving you may not.

First Hack: When using hard puck soaps, especially triple milled, it pays to bloom the soap in addition to soaking your brush. If you don't know what "blooming" means it means to put some hot tap water on top of the puck while you are taking your shower to soften the soap and make loading easier. You can use a little or a lot, it doesn't matter. The old timers used to bloom the soap and soak the brush in the same mug. Here is the "hack" part: use the bloom water as a pre-shave. It will keep the lather quite moist and help generate a far more voluminous first pass if you are face lathering (my preferred method).

The second "hack" is to transfer all Pinaud aftershaves to washed out (with dish washing liquid) hot sauce bottles. It will make the aftershave smell less "plasticy".

Third hack: if you are going to learn to straight razor shave please learn to use both hands. To get yourself ready, comb your hair with your non-dominant hand for 30 days before you start using it to shave. You will be surprised how clumsy your are at first and how limited your range of motion is in your shoulder on the non-dominant side.

This is all great stuff. Keep posting even if you think everyone already knows it because some of us may not know or we’ve forgotten it.  Big Grin

Forgot one:

Fourth hack: If you have an old triple milled soap and it has lost its aroma, add a sprinkle of your favorite aftershave (alcohol based) and let it soak in. Do this two or three times and it will be rejuvenated.
