I'm sure I've mentioned this a couple of times already, but here goes anyway:
Float your lather bowl in the sink of hot water, with no cold water mixed in.
Lather stays warm longer than any modern-style scuttle because the amount of hot water is so much greater.
You need a thin-walled bowl that will readily conduct heat to the contents, in this case, stainless steel. It's 4" diameter and 2" deep, nearly hemispherical.
I typically use a croap and smear a 1/4 teaspoon of it around the bottom of the bowl, dip it in water and immediately dump the excess water. Then float it and let it bloom (maybe even liquify, depending on the base) during the prep shower.
Only one drawback - The brush must not have a large or long handle because it will capsize, so those aluminum Rubberset 400 brushes are right out. (Also those Omega 49 Pro brushes, but we hates them anyway, Precious.)
Once my son gets his 3D printer back up and running I might commission a flotation collar for the bowl.
Those Turkish hammered copper mugs work too, but you must be careful to place the brush handle opposite the mug handle for balance. Maybe a little floaty clip for the mug handle will fix that.
The red silicone rubber waffle pad prevents the razor from scratching the finish on the sink.
