I believe Joe will be producing more Baby Smooth razors. I suggest you sign-up for an email notification (on the IB site) if you would like notified when they are back in stock.

Normally his razors like the stealth slant sell out in a matter of hours (not sure why but whatever lol).

They sell out because they are good. The Baby Smooth might be the finest DE I have used in 25 yrs at this, hence my enthusiasm for starting this thread.

The well known Leisureguy who has been around a good number of years and has tried probably all of the high end razors (Wolfman, Blackbird, on and on) recently remarked that the Baby Smooth is "certainly a valid candidate for best conventional razor ever produced."

In terms of build quality the razor is solid and rigid. The top cap is produced out of one piece of billet aluminum. Nothing welded.

Shaves me better than the Wolfman, Weber & Blackbird on and on. If I sound like a fanboy for this particular razor amen to that! Wink

Too bad I didn't get on with mine. I found it too mild. However, it was very nicely machined.

Other than the handle, is there anything different (design-wise) with this latest iteration? I absolutely love my BBS but so does my wife...I would use mine more often but it's ALWAYS in her shave den. I am tempted to get her one...

How mild is it? Are we talking Gillette Tech-mild or Merkur 34 HD-mild?

Don't confuse mild with not cutting on this thing. You still get a lot of blade on the face, but you just don't feel it. You have to see it in person to understand because it is a little bit hard to describe how a razor without huge blade exposure still cuts so well. Personally I think it has a lot to do with the safety bar having a wide gap underneath the blade. The Black Mamba has a similar safety bar.
