I would have to assume that he has some personal problems of one sort or another.

In my experience, that is the kind of thing that causes otherwise inexplicable behavior.

Hope he works it out, whatever is going on.

Unfortunately I think it's more down to poor craftsmanship and even poorer customer service and that's being charitable after my experience . These are the same problems that you can read about on various forums etc for years pertaining to Gustavo Romera and Artesania Romera at large I'm afraid. In the course of my complaint with Romera I have had numerous PM's detailing terrible experiences with Gustavo ranging from substandard work, non existent customer service to flat out taking money and not sending product.

'Problems' is excuse. Customers are not family who make excuse for the uncle absent from another Thanksgiving while wiring bail money on top of bus fare.

If this guy is doing such a poor job and seems to be indifferent to customers needs, why is he still listed under Merchants ?

If there is a certain amount of inactivity on a merchant's site, usually at least six months, then the merchant may be delisted.

on top of what Freddy said, we also basically allow all merchants to join the site and participate, as long as they have an actual website for the items they're selling.

I seem to remember a few vendors who initially had reported "personal problems" as an excuse for not shipping promptly, not communicating, etc. and then it turned out that it was bunk, long after something could have been done.

From all the pm's I received on various forums etc when I explained my long running problems with Gustavo it seems like he has a particular pattern that he follows and he has been doing so for quite a few years. I appreciate things happen in life but he's been doing the same and saying the same to customers for years now and from the accumulated customer testimonials I have been privy to , he is either telling porkies or has been having the exact same issues for the best part of 5 years.

In any case when he tells people of his woes to justify product being 6 month late or worse etc , he is simultaneously advertising publicly on social media etc of his "in stock" brushes ready for shipping and touting for more business so it makes no sense in what he says. It doesn't correlate with a man struggling in his personal life to the extent that he can't provide product that has already been paid for by a customer 4 , 5 or 6 month later than scheduled when he is making brushes of the exact same specifications for nobody in particular.

I always look for the best in people but unfortunately some people are of poor character and morals who don't share the same decent and honest values as most of us do. Below is the link to my Romera complaint if you have not read it yet. I warn you though , It's a long read :-)

Directing this complaint to include the forum is an injured snake biting itself. When I buy on EvilBAY I check negative feedback and pay more for a 100 percent rating. I research products online and have dodged some real stinkers. This issue is now online like a teenage girl's sexting nude selfies. You let these genies out and they don't go back in people. I was in a similar conflict with a major brushmaker.I wound up banned ( of course for other reasons. ) I drew enough blood to maybe, change his ways and received enough PMs to know I cost several sales. There comes a point when you have to step back and let go. I came into a treasured brush from a maker people complain cannot keep up with demand.
It healed an old wound. I suggest doing same.

I agree with this. At first I was fine with 1morepasswill and the telling of his story. At this point it is a perpetual crusade. The word is definitely out on this vendor, Romera appears to be an absolute crook and his track record is quite clear. Call it done. You've unloaded your entire magazine into him and his body hasn't moved for weeks. Soon the authorities will draw a chalk-line around him. Trust me, no vendor with this type of history can survive, its a matter of time. I am very sympathetic to you 1morepasswill what happened to you definitely sucks, don't get me wrong.
