Wow, i never expected this thread to get so much action. Obviously I am not alone.

The good news (for me) is that I got a notice from Paypal that I am getting my money back.

The odd thing is that a couple weeks ago, Paypal apparently got a tracking number from Romera. Paypal gave me that number. That package was mailed about 5 weeks after my order and according to the Spanish mail tracking site, it left Spain about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Where it went from there is anybody's guess. It certainly didn't arrive here and i do not expect it to. Paypal obviously doesn't expect that either or I wouldn't have won my case.

My guess is that it is just some random package to someone that Romera provided to Paypal to try to keep my money. In my experience, packages always arrive. now obviously there are exceptions, but it just hasn't happened to me

This is just downright creepy. The sad thing is, it does harm to truly legitimate and honest eBay sellers.

It wouldn't surprise me if he was up to stuff like that with the mail and Paypal. Glad you escaped with your money.

I just got this reply from Gustavo this morning.
Quote:Hello, your brush will be ready to ship the next week.
Hmmm. We'll just wait and see. I'll be wanting a tracking # with that promise.

All of this is exactly why I've never purchased a brush or even a knot from Romera. I cannot tell if it is incompetence, he is too busy, or if he just doesn't care. His customer service is embarrassingly bad and its amazing to me that with all of this knowledge...

1. How long the orders take to get fulfilled AND shipped
2. Lack of response from the vendor
3. The quality control problems

...people still continue to order brushes. I understand that his pricing is pretty good and there have been some nice knots and brushes to come out of there, but there are just too many artisans making brushes now to fool around with this.

I wish those that have purchased brushes recently the absolute best of luck in getting a quality brush ASAP, and to those that want their money back a full refund.

I couldn't agree more with all your sentiments. His Manchurian knots are good, true but not worth the hassle of dealing with everything else. I will be posting my whole year long debacle with Romera tonight and it won't be a good news story I'm afraid. Too many professional Artisans who can run a business and create product out there to pay this guy upfront blindly. Who even takes full payment before the product is made? It is also telling that he has blocked any facility on his website or social media platforms for customer comments. He has warning bells ringing all over his behaviour for me.

I have a new post up in the Brushes section of the forum with a full and detailed account of my experience with Gustavo. i have posted it on DFS, TSR, Facebook , Instagram. The Shavenook deleted it and banned me within seconds of it being posted. I suppose the vendors advertising money is more important than it's members possibly being ripped off.

No question that the number one driver for TSN is money.

They are, of course, not too keen on the slightest dissension either.

You are among a respectable group that have been tossed.

I don't miss it at all.

I'm sure last night it gave a date when I would be allowed back and it was the 28th so I assumed it was a 24 hour ban. Seems quite extreme to ban a member who has had absolutely no run ins in the past just for posting what I did. Good riddance , i only joined for the BST anyway Wink
