I just don’t get the fascination with the toggle. I understand collectors of vintage examples as rare exotica, but what advantage do modern takes bring to the table? Granted, the Janus is an impressive accomplishment. I can understand the “because it’s there” aspect of making it work - as a hobby. I just hope the business case is built on partially underwriting a hobby, not earning a living.

I think you are missing the proper thread. This is the one for the Rockwell Model T. ;-)

I gave up on getting a Model T and the mixed reviews didn't help. So a while back I requested a refund of my pledge and while willing to give me that, I was also offered a 6S instead. So, ya, I jumped on that since I heard a lot of good about the 6S. So now I have a 6S instead with all 3 plates for it and the case and I'm happy

The Janus is definitely inspired by the toggle, however the Model T is closer to the Slim. What makes the Toggle a grail razor is the fact that it wasn't in production for very long and there is the cool factor to it. Many say that it wasn't because of performance or reliability.

And the Model-T is not for sale? - or only for the people who donated to the 'start up' correct? The model-T is mentioned on the Rockwell website for April 2019. Its not stainless. I wonder how much of the razor is brass.
