Why did you need a knife? It just slides off. There is no need to cut anything.

Thank you very much BPman!   My box did not slide, no matter how hard I pulled, and I did not want to damage it.  But after reading your post, I stuck a very thin ruler between the inner and outer halves, worked it around, and the box loosened up.  I wonder if a piece of debris was stuck inside, or a micro drop of glue.  Anyway, the razor edge I used left glue on both sides of the top and the bottom, and the glue is still sticky (tacky). So reclosed everything and put a few tight rubber bands around the box.  Hopefully that will be enough to rebind the glue.

It does come with the Lifetime Warranty ticket and the invoice includes a 10% off your next purchase stamp.

Honestly, when I saw the 10% off, i was really flabbergasted. We just got an amazing deal on a fantastic razor and, oh by the way, go ahead and take 10% off your next order. Matt / Razor Emporium, thank you so much for doing the Group-Buy, making/including videos of the process, and simply ensuring customer satisfaction! Happy2

You’re welcome!

I’m happy you’re happy Smile

We made this razor because we wanted people to love shaving. Being adjustable it will appeal to a wider audience than a fixed gap So naturally we wanted it to get into as many hands as possible.

Keep the feedback coming all - love reading it Smile

Hi Matt I just received my Rex thanks so much for the group buy
It is beautifully made and feels great in the hand and shaves very well, but I have one comment to make. The razor does not Glide and is not as smooth as some of my other razors. I have no idea why this is so but it is. It doesn't take away from the closeness and the comfort of the shave but for me I prefer a razor that does Glide more and the feel of that. I did a side by side with my other razors such as the Timeless Blacbird, Paradigm, Tatara, Pils, Rocnel Elite and Sailor Rockwell 6s and all those did Glide much smoother than the Rex. The shave was equal but the feel was different and was wondering if you knew or can explain this

I’ve heard the “doesn’t glide” thing before. Most people find that with a little getting used to it they master the right angle and this subsides.

The other day I had an Ambassador and Parthenon razor in my bathroom. Without a blade loaded, I slid each one on my face. I personally didn’t feel any difference - one being chrome plated and polished zinc and the other being brushed steel.

I personally practice blade buffing so perhaps I’ve never noticed this glide thing because I don’t do long strokes.

We are gearing up for a polished version - perhaps that will change some things in the glide department.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes you will feel the drag more on longer Strokes then if you just buff. I tried all different angles it is what it is and it is still a beautiful razor

I noticed a slight drag with it, so I focused on a lighter touch and it went away. To me, this is a good thing because it forces you to have good technique.
