How about the experience of ATT and Timeless / Rockwell / Karve / Blackbird bead blasted / machine finished versions ? Or the chrome polish and matte finish Merkur futur or similar razors.

Can someone share their experience or is this drag unique to the Rex Ambassador.

I've got mine delivered but don't get it in my hands for a next few weeks as I am traveling !

Is really hard to say what causes the slight drag. I have been trying to figure this out with a few of the razors that have slight drag for me. For the Blackbird the polished definitely fixed the problem. For the timeless there was no drag with any finish. So sometimes the Finish does have something to do with it and other times it could be just the design of the razor that causes this. The Karve and the Rockwell 6S Glide smooth as silk on the face and both of those have a matte finish

Sometimes the "residual slickness" allows me to hit the same spot an extra time or two...  The first two shaves to seemed like zero residual slickness remained and each time I tried an additional stroke the razor did drag.   I chalked it up to poor lather or and extremely efficient razor that removes everything Big Grin ... then again it could be my hard water.

I don't think it was your shaving lather or your hard water, it really is just the way the razor is. I also first thought that maybe the Shaving soap but when I used different razors at the same time with the Rex it's still did drag a little

Is the adjustable meant to go a little before “1” and a little after “6”? My red dots stopping points are not exactly 1 and 6. Wanted to know if this was in the specs.

I think it’s designed that way. Mine does the same thing.

Mine does the same

My Ti Baby Smooth always reminds me of using an upholstery nozzle on the vacuum cleaner. It is very efficient though.

The Rex finish is on the smooth side of matte. I didn’t notice any drag on 4.

Yes. I wanted it to have 1 full rotation so it stops and starts on same dot. Alpha & Omega as I call it Wink
