I don't typically like open comb razors but I love the way this one looks. I'm contemplating it. I'd like to try all three assemblies but I don't know if I can shell out $450 for it.
don't forget that there will be 4 timeless razors in our Movember donation drive...

It's not only the looks. The teeth on this are so smooth that it's as smooth as any bar against your skin. (If that's your issue with OCs.) I got one full razor plus two more plates, planning to return one or two w/in the 30 days. I still have all three but will likely keep the two OC plates. The .95 is perfect on >1.5-2 days growth. The .68, while virtually just as efficient, is a daily driver. So the .95 scalloped bar is heading back.

Nice to know. The OC does look very smooth and I think I read that somewhere too. That's why I was considering it. I don't like the feeling of a rake on my face. Maybe I can pick up an IC sometime and just sell it if it isn't right for me.

I know this is a lot to ask but I would be interested in a demo kit. I feel bad ordering a few razors knowing I am going to return some of them. I would rather rent a used set and pay shipping.

I understand OC vs SB. But what is the purpose of the scalloped base plate? Does it serve a function or is it purely aesthetic?

To me, the scalloped base plate shaves a lot like a Mühle R41. I think that Timeless states that it's a cross between their SB and OC base plates...

I have the .68 SB as well as the.68 scalloped heads. Either head is extremely smooth and efficient. In a blind test I am sure I could not tell the difference. Probably should send the scalloped head back and either get the .68 open comb or move up to the .95. I've never had an open comb I've liked well enough to keep and I really don't want the .95. I need to decide soon as I'm about out of time.

Let me know what you decide. I shave every day so I have never considered an OC. I am not sure it would offer me an advantage.
