Timeless OC with Hempel Ti
Feather (1)

I received the Timeless OC Head yesterday. Since I have accumulated several handles, I decided to go with the head only. A couple of observations. The razor is stunning. Pictures failed to capture the true look of the razor. The polishing was first rate on the bottom plate and the outside of the top cap. The inside of the top cap was not polished or finished to the same standard. This in no way impacted the shave or my overall impressions of the razor.

There was no need to fiddle as I loaded the new Feather blade. The razor held the blade firmly in perfect alignment. I decided to proceed with a traditional 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG, & ATG. With such a large blade gap, one would think it would be a fairly aggressive razor. While I did feel the blade, I never felt as if it would bite me. Nothing like an Ikon Tech for example. However, the Timeless OC was very efficient much like my Wolfman OC. Overall I am very pleased with the initial shave and I expect the shaves will improve as I become more accustomed to the razor.
Glad to hear the first shave went well. I haven't tried mine on a Titanium handle yet, may be my next experiment.

The Titanium handle really worked well with the Timeless head. I will use this set up for several days and change out to one of my other handles.

For work morning shaves, I want a quick, efficient and drama free shave.  I would like the shave to be as close to BBS as reasonable without being obsessive.  I do not want to have to over think things but just use the tools.  For me the Timeless OC just flat nails these goals.  Today I stuck with a 3 pass shave but changed the direction of the passes by skipping the WTG pass and going, XTG, ATG & XTG.  The fact that the blade is held very rigidly allowed me to skip the WTG pass.  I do believe that I will really get this thing dialed in with more use.

Shave number 3 with the Timeless OC and Feather combo. Lathered up Mystic Water Eucalyptus & Spearmint into a rich slick lather and went with 3 passes, XTG, ATG & XTG followed by a few touch ups. I managed to catch the baby ending in a BBS shave which is better than my normal work day shaves. The razor shaves much milder than the blade gap would suggest. I will go back to the Wolfman OC tomorrow just for comparison. The Timeless OC is a very well thought out razor with a superb fit and finish.

Shave #4 with the Timeless OC.  Do you ever have one of those days where you just have to change things that already work?  Today was one of those days for me.  For no logical explanation, I decided to go with a Persona Lab Blue blade instead of the normal Feather.  Talk about turning a great shave bad that single change did just that very thing.  I made it through a painful first pass and changed the blade out to a Feather and finished up the shave in fine order.  I think the problem was with me putting too much pressure on the razor compensating for a blade that was not as sharp as my usual and was no way the fault of the razor.

I can use lab blues in several of my razors and get great shaves but I had the same experience as you did with the Timeless. Med prep worked great and Polsilvers are tops but the lab blues were horrible in it.

I will keep that in mind and give the Lab Blues in some other razors.

Shave #6 with the Timeless OC.  After the detour with Lab Blues, I am back to having fantastic shaves with this razor.  I stuck with a traditional 3 pass shave today, WTG, XTG, ATG followed my minimal touch ups and ended with a near perfect BBS.  I did get on small weeper on my neck that was my fault for chasing the baby.  I can say that the Timeless OC is one of my 2 favorite DE razors with the other being my Wolfman OC.  Both are truly beautiful razors that for me deliver DE shaves that rival my SE razors.

I've been struggling with the Timeless. I get a very very close shave from it, but a little irritation and almost always at least one nick. My technique is now reasonable, and I don't cut myself with other razors, and I keep pressure to a minimum. Just can't quite master the Timeless OC.

I hope you get it sorted. I have had more weepers with the handle I am using this week. I'll finish out the week with this handle and then try another.
