Hi gents,

Still new to DE shaving, and trying to find the right products for the job.
After some reading on the forums, I've settled on the Proraso AS balm for sensitive skin, but found out I'm allergic to one of the ingredients (still feeling like suffering from a serious burn). Any other suggestion from your personal experience? Any comment would be much appreciated!

While I do not have overly sensitive skin, I have found that Reef Point Soaps makes just about the best balm I have ever tried - very soothing and moisturizing. You can get it unscented as well which might help with skin irritation.

Nivea for sensitive skin is the most often recommend affordable balm. If you still have an allergic reaction to it, then it might be helpful to consult a dermatologist.

Soap Commander Integrity. I think that's how the owners got into the business if memory serves. Their daughter had a skin issue and they started making stuff for her. Please anyone correct me if I have my facts wrong but I think this speaks to the intent of their products and I find that their balm is the most soothing to my skin. I use it anytime I need a good lotion, its good stuff.

Proraso makes a sensitive skin aftershave balm that is pretty good. I have sensitive skin and never had a problem with it.

I agree about Nivea, and Soap Commander Integrity (all of their balms are great but Integrity is unscented and without menthol). Village Barber is also excellent.

Spot on Bob. Their daughter had severe eczema and that led to their soap business.

I also don't have sensitive skin but love the SC balms as they are not greasy in the least. Integrity is unscented per comments but if you are sensitive to menthol, they actually make a version with and without so be sure and select appropriately.
