They make that pretty clear in the product description on the website:

*NOTE: If you are buying the Base Plate ONLY option for $37.99 USD, you will need to already have a Top Cap from this version of the Lupo. The Base Plates are not intended to be used with aluminum Lupo Top Caps or Taps Caps from the older DLC Lupo.

I just shaved with the .95 tonight. I’ll have more comments in a later post, but as far as first impressions go.....let’s just say it’s too bad the name Game Changer has already been used by RR, because that’s the description that immediately comes to mind.

CK89  you're making a good case for that .95 razor, sounds pretty efficient.

Unfortunately the earliest would be Sunday or Monday as I'm in the midst of a 50 years old or older Gillette week. I'm sure someone else will get to it before me.

Thanks. That note was added after I must have last looked at the description (a week or two ago).

One shave on each of the 72 and 95 plates so far, and really enjoying this thing. The head profile is even a smidge slimmer than the GC, if you can believe it. High efficiency with good comfort. Need some more shaves before giving a more detailed report. So far, so good.

Posting Freak
I shaved with the .72 Lupo this morning using Wholly Kaw Rebelle and a Bic Astor blade.  Now to be fair, I'm wearing a beard right now so I only shaved my neck area but I like this razor.  At .72 gap its a little milder than my WR1 but then the WR1 is pretty aggressive for me.  Dont ask me what the blade gap is in my WR1 - when I bought it in 2015 from James I didn't specify and he didn't ask. I was one of the last on the original wait list and I was stunned to get the email asking me what I wanted...uh...a razor?   Big Grin

In any case I was approaching the whole Lupo thing with trepidation.  I've been disappointed before.  I stayed away from the earlier drops vowing not to be burned again.  But then I started seeing the comments form people I know and who's opinions carry weight with me.  Still, maybe it was all SSDD.  Well, I crumbled and bought Both the .72 and .95 and after trying the .72 today I will say that for me, the Lupo is the real deal. Happy2   The .95 will be up next.
