Some of the Rocnel Sailors are fairly rare. I think there were only 10 of the very first model. Some models were limited to 100 pieces. Pretty sure the 19, 20, and 21 had 4 or 5 prototypes. Later models had more than 100pcs so they wouldn't count.

I agree with other poster about Lambda. I'm not sure total production.

Of course, we are pretty much guessing a total units for all of the razors in question, save a few.

I wouls say also Tradere is a rare one: in total 1100...First Gen.: 230.....After Richard Mason made the handle shorter so 2nd Gen was born and, just before stoped the production, the SB version....

I have a custom Wolfman from a few years ago with a maple leaf engraving. He used to allow custom engravings. I also have the Asylum Murphy in machined finish. And about 8 Mongoose Razors including the minigoose edition.

The good thing is that any of these razors mentioned above can be reissued or reproduced. Someone could possibly buy the rights to Raw Shaving's designs; Dufour can reissue a BBS-1; Blackland already collaborated to reissue the Tradere. What is potentially rare are items like the prototype BBS-1 handles that Dufour put up for sale (early on) on his website that were several unique designs. Yes, he could produce them again, but why bother as they were not the final product. Any prototype, to me, is among razor rarities...the rest are just standard issue.

Another issue is material. I used to want to exclusively purchase a titanium version, if available, but find with each razor that I may prefer a stainless steel version over the titanium version because the weight suits my shaving style better. Now, when someone has a razor customized to their liking that's another matter. There is a custom engraved BBS-1 that is outlandishly stunning, and something I would love to own as the hand engraving far surpasses the machine fabricated razor.

I'll be clear I'm not talking about Gillette Toggles or Double Rings etc. as I consider those vintage. I"m talking about modern razors.

This is my beginning list of razors I'd consider rare/hard to find/unobtainium and expensive to very expensive if you can find one.  I'm sure there are others.

BBS1 Titanium - if anyone knows for sure how many were made I'd like to know but I think it was 10
Paradigm Titanium 1 - I know 51 were made as I have one.
Raw Shaving RS 10 Titanium - Only 10 of those were made.
BBS1 SS - Not sure how many of these were made.

My Paradigm Ti-1 is amazing Shaver two pass I’m done and it’s a true Gem to Own my is like a Jewel and Joy to Shave with period…

Hi Alan,

Just curious, which razor do you find smoother, the Ti 2 or the Diamondback?
