Added another follically challenged man to the wet shave game and a 200.00 maggards order.  I have never in 6 years had any face or head shaver go back to Carts..... why is this market not growing faster?

How do you know it isn’t? There a tons of choices and other sources. Just online Amazon dwarfs WCS, Maggards, etc.

I guess for me the true indication that we have "arrived" will be seeing a line of soap and aftershave on the shelves at a big box store like walamrt, or CVS or Walgreens.  That said the number of Artesians seems to continue to grow as are the hardware makers... so in that sense, I was probably wrong... the market is growing, just not as "visible" as it would seem.

Have you seen the men’s grooming department at a Target store?

Yes.  My target doesn't have shave soap or brushes on the shelves and the aftershave is limited to old spice and English leather.  It has harrys razors and shave cream and Vandgerhagen cheap terrible safety razors and their terrible blades and thats it.  A couple years ago you could get a bevel razor on the shelves but no longer.

I have 2 different Target stores I have visited recently. One in a upper middle class area and one in a very blue collar area. There was a huge difference in the men’s grooming department. You can guess which was which.

In the past five years more artisan vendors have disappeared than most would believe. As well, most people get excellent shaves from disposable/multi-blade razors or else they wouldn't sell as well. Most people choose convenience above all. Besides that, I don't consider myself a shaving "Luddite" zealot out to convert the World. I am only concerned about my dashingly handsome face.

DE shaving will always keep a steady straight line pace. Not only carts are convenient plus DE hardware prices are all over as you can get one as low as $10 or one for $400 not too many are jumping on the DE bandwagon.

gone to Carolina in my mind
It would not surprise me if an unexpected Corona consequence is a spike in DE shaving.  There is an old saying "Can't dance; too wet to plow.", meaning "may as well <shave> because we can't do anything else."  With people stuck at home, convenience may become less important, folks may get bored, and there are plenty of cheap but serviceable mail order options on Amazon alone.

Not exactly a slam-dunk, but who knows?
