Here in internet most fellows seems to like big razors, 6/8 or bigger. I have few hundred razors and my own experience is 6/8 or bigger ones are too big to me. In this evening i was shave with little 3/8 Bengell sheffield steel and shave was one of my best in long time. Usually I like to use a round point razor sized 4/8- 6/8. Ofcourse I have some 8/8 and +8/8 with all kind of point types, but they are nice to see but not nice to use.

So, What is the perfect size to you and do you have favorit point types? In fact, size doesn't matter all to me, point type is more important thing. If I have to choose only one from my favorit razor, my choose is John. Pritzlaff Everkeen 4/8 (vintage) with sharpened round toe.

There are some of my favorites from reason or other.

I've had perhaps 50 through my hands ... just 6 retained, which are all different.

I have two ideals: first is a big, old wedge (13/16 or more) with a Spanish point; second, hollow ground 5/8 or so with a spike point.

I'm by no means a regular straight shaver, but I do like to have a weekly shave with one.

6/8, square point, full hollow. But I have or have had 4/8, 9/16, and 5/8. Like them all. The only thing I don't like about a lot of the small razors is a lack of jimps.

I am new to straights but so far I don't care for the bigger ones. I have a couple that I do like to use which is a Torrey 5/8 barber's notch, a Dubl Duck Special #1 and one wedge that is a Red Imp 132.

I prefer 6/8. Ill admit that I've used smaller but, to date, nothing bigger. I get good shaves with smaller ones, but I don't like to hone them.

I say go with what works for you. Most of the razors that make the cut for me are 6/8+ with a square or French point (unmuted tips). I like the idea of shorty blades but haven't found one with the right size and tip yet.

I used to not like anything bigger than 13/16. But recently I tried an 8/8 and fell in love with larger sizes. I think it takes a while to get familiar with larger blades, but once one does, they feel truly efficient and effective!

I prefer the weight of the bigger razors, but size wise, a 6/8 is what I like.
So, I guess if there's a really heavy 6/8 our there, I need to find it : )

You need to look for a 6/8 wedge blade. More steel, more weight.

I like how you think.  That's a good idea.

I guess if I could write  a fairytale ending to my razor search, it would end with me having a 6/8 sized straight razor with the weight of something around a 10/8.
