Paradigm 2020 Diamondback

I recently purchased the New Paradigm 2020 Diamondback and let’s just see from initial looks this is a piece of highly polished jewelry.  Very well fabricated!  All edges are clean and mirror finish.  There is a bit of weight to this beauty and there’s the value as it isn’t cheaply made. The diamondback design is prominently engraved and stands out beautifully.  Let’s get to the shave!  Andy stated that this shaved better than the 17-4 in his opinion because of the change in geometry.  I know nothing about that as I have never shaved with the 17-4.  But, my opinion is that there is a slight bite to the razor and that’s a good thing because what you will find that this razor is incredibly efficient. I like to feel a little blade because I don’t prefer razors that are too mild nor too aggressive.  There is a spot on my face that never gets completely clean even after two passes and a thorough clean up.  Well,  this razor solved that problem.  The after math I’m proudly to say that my face was still BBS after 17-18 hours and I have a heavy beard.  My other razors include Raw, Wolfman, Timeless, CG, Carbon, Rockwell and Razorock.  So, what would o compare this to?  Hmmmm I would have to say it’s in a class like Wolfman. Very high end in every way!  So, if you’re like me and enjoy having choices in your den then this is a must have.  Happy Shaving!

Thanks for the review. Which raw plate do you use and which wolfman and blade gap do you have?

In regards to blade feel and efficiency what can the DB be compared to? Can you post up some pics showing the polishing of all three pieces? When the handle is screwed on fully do the flats on the handle lay in the same plane as the direction on the cap and base plate? (Hope this last question makes sense)

Marcos I'll answer that last one, as I understand what you are getting at. It depends upon thickness of the blade and how much you tighten it down, but yes.

Please see the attached razors!  My Wolfman is on loan at the moment.  I use both base plates depending on facial growth.

I use both plates when necessary. Fabulous shave too.
