Paradigm 17-4 SS Razor

I was hoping to not read more of these comments so that I would not have to get one, but it seems like I am gravitating towards finally buying one. This won't be very good for my wallet.

Great Mohammad! Yes, not cheap but this DE is worth every penny.

Granted only one shave down. Face and head shave this am.

The comments that it shaves as smoothly as a Timeless .68 but as efficiently as the .95 are spot on having owned both. The 17-4 stainless is unique looking. Reading about this type of steel last night in bed was fun. I love that the razor is not as heavy as a Rockwell 6S. A lot of razors are getting too heavy, large  and cumbersome imo. The 17-4 is perfectly weighted. The handle length and grip are absolutely spot on. The head comes together beautifully and was really well thought out.

One shave thoughts. Little to no blade feel at all but as efficient as that T .95 and close to the Blackbird SB but oh so much more comfortable. Exactly what I’ve been searching for. Nice lather channels similar to a Progress/Timeless. Paradigm did their homework and it shows.

This might very well end up being the razor I use ‘9 out of 10 times.’

Also, please no more my $3.80 razor shaves me just as well talk in this Thread. That’s just starting trouble.

Glad to see others are getting the same results. This razor amazed me.

Tonight I did a side by side Paradigm vs. Timeless .95 smooth plate, Gillette Red SS blades,new.  Proraso green cream, Wolf Whiskers brush. Bias side note the Timeless is made near my home town and I own every one they make.
WTG both razors mow down one day grey beard growth, both are very smooth but slight more blade feel with Timeless.
ATG Again smooth passes with both, definitely more blade feel with .95. At this point my cheeks and around the lips and most of my neck is done.
3rd pass touch up under Jaw and around Adam’s apple, slight edge to Paradigm with buffing.
Overall Great shave near BBS with both. High quality build and great polish on both. Paradigm was definitely smoother with each pass and most notably with buffing. Can’t go wrong with either razor, but IMHO paradigm by a nose for a very smooth, irritation free, daily driver that is extremely efficient

I have been chatting with Andrew the guy who designed this razor for a couple of months now. Expect some awesome things from this guy in the future

Certainly, there is more to the geometry than a blade gap. I just put that number in case anyone needs it

Shavemd now I'm really curious about the Timeless razor. I have never been a fan of DE razors, but today, my mind was blown away.

The beauty of Timeless is they give you a no hassle 30 day trial on any of their razors. IMHO their quality and craftsmanship is 2nd to none and there choice of heads, metal and handles lets you create whatever you may desire. Matt answers most emails in less than a day, he is great to work with.

Just a reminder to clean out any machine shavings and gunk with Q-Tips from the manufacturing process. Most, if not all, handles are shipped with those shavings still inside. Also occasionally applying high quality sewing machine oil will keep the male and female threads running smooth as silk.

Just think how much worse it’ll be if you like it so much that you eventually decide you need a backup…

I’m just going to say it — I wish they either sold these directly, or through several distributors. I’m not a fan of the current sales model.
