Our Non-human Companions

Well, not quite Shitzu. 

From his genetic analysis he's about 50% American Standard Bulldog, 25% English Bulldog, and 25% Pekingese. A strange combination, but a wonderful dog.

Almost said Pekingese too as I detected a little of something from that category which includes the Shitzu and Apso.....at least in my unprofessional view.

I never would have guessed pekinese.

Whenever I see a picture of a bulldog it makes me think of this photo.
The caption is usually "In their minds they are Secret Service".

We picked up our new cat today. The shelter named him Icarus, but we changed the name to Oscar (after one of my daughter's favourite baseball players).

He would not go into our pet carrier, so we had to use one of the cardboard ones from the shelter. He promptly tore his way out of it in the car. However, he was chill enough to come and curl up in my daughter's lap for the remainder of the trip. We brought him inside to the guest bedroom, which will be his domain for a few days.

I will post a pic later, but for now I want to leave him alone in the room so he can calm down. There has been a lot of upheaval in his life recently.

Every once in awhile when I go to the local gun shop a gent and his English bulldog come in. I don't know the gent and can't even tell you what he looks like, but the bulldog is just a fantastic canine ambassador. I'd recognize him in a heartbeat. But I get along better with most dogs than I do with people.

Archie had his first visit to the groomer today. He’s starting to look like a poodle
