OSP soaps. Scents.

Is this guy back in the game?  Last I'd heard he had stepped back from the business.

Back to make some more unscented soaps?

Who knows, maybe - I think the bar is even higher now than last time so we'll see.

I'm happy to hear that he's overcome the challenges he faced at the time.

I had/have some OSP samples I bought from Connaught in the UK. Their Sandalwood is the best there is IMO as it's a true Sandalwood and not some bizarre offshoot. However, their Orange Patchouli is for me simply mesmerizing. The scent is captivating to my nose. That said, I have read a paltry few reviews on other forums saying that OSP is fantastic, but lacked perhaps a little slickness to make it a Top Tier soap. I can't make up my mind on that as I don't have a full tub to evaluate, only the mini sample(s). I get good slickness, but cannot state with alacrity that I would say super slick. What sayeth those who have used it?

Connaught Shaving is great for samples. I got an OSP Neroli sample probably about a year ago, and found it to be such an intoxicating scent that I ended up ordering a full-size soap — even though my lathers with the sample hadn’t been quite top-tier. As I recall, slickness was perhaps one of the traits that was slightly lacking.

Been saving my full-size Neroli soap for the spring. I’m sure the lathers will improve once I dial the soap in. Now I’m really intrigued by the Orange Patchouli…

I had a Neroli sample, but a shaving buddy liked the smell so well that I traded it in a deal. It is a very nice fragrance, but the Orange Patchouli "hooked' me. OSP probably has the best natural smelling soaps out there IMO.

There are many cases where I’ll put up with a soap with slightly lesser performance than my favorites, if the scent is superb. I’ll definitely be adding at least a sample of Orange Patchouli to my next Connaught Shaving order. (Although, at the current exchange rate, a full-size jar is showing as $19.68 shipped to the U.S., so not a bad deal for almost five ounces of soap.)

I recently shaved with Neroli again. I agree with the assessment — not a very slick soap. However, I appreciated the shave, nevertheless. It left my skin feeling very “clean,” somehow. Even though this is a tallow soap, this experience led me to feel that the somewhat light consistency of the lather makes this soap more suitable for warm seasons.

I don’t know about his other soaps, but I have the Neroli soap and a sample of the Shogun cream, and they both have plenty of scent. The Neroli in particular. (I really enjoy that one.)

OSP and pheonix and beau are amazing soaps. Ive used almost all the scents which im not that fond of but in terms of performance and post feel....they rank at the top.

Both worth every penny....
