What is frustrating about this is that they had a Kickstarter and raised all this money, used the money to basically experiment and now a few months later or coming out with an improved version and the people from the original Kickstarter are getting screwed with a razor that's now being improved. I have wrote them and have not gotten any response. What they should have done is offer any of the original people who help them get off the ground be able to exchange for the new version or do something for the original backers.

I certainly understand where you are coming from. They do have an option for the original backers to buy just the handle at $23. I think that includes shipping. The original plates will work with V2. While not free, it is a relatively modest cost. And it does show some effort on their part to acknowledge the contribution of the original backers.

I understand what you were saying Eric but the head is different and they took money from all of us to design a razor that they said is great and then turn around within a few months and prove it and we have to pay for the changes that they should have done in the first place. It wasn't like 6 months or a year later it was a few months and they should have offered it done something for the original contribute is not paying $23 for a handle

Reminds me of the One Blade, no?
I took a chance and backed them, looks like a decent deal, will probably get this before I get my Model T.

Also more importantly the one blade was in a Kickstarter they raised and put in their own money and even when they put out the less expensive core razor because it wasn't maybe perfect they offered people their money back(03-08-2018, 06:11 PM)rawfox1 Wrote: I understand what you were saying Eric but the head is different and they took money from all of us to design a razor that they said is great and then turn around within a few months and prove it and we have to pay for the changes that they should have done in the first place. While not an original kickstarter backer, I have to admit I do feel a little like I paid nearly $100 to beta test their razor. I am hoping the modifications they make move it from being a very good razor (or OK razor) to being a great razor. And they certainly owe all their original backers an explanation. Please let us know if (and how) they respond.

I vaguely recall two razors on Kickstarter that had some changes after the initial production run - Blackbird and Rockwell 6s. From my website readings, both Paladin and Brad Sears see an improvement in recent brush knots. Product improvement is good for shavers and business owners.
Paradigm, Blackbird, Rockwell, ATT, others have used their creative and engineering skills on new products (Model T, Sabre, SE, Titanium, bronze, etc). Appears Occam's used their talents on product enhancements and listening to consumers.
Should Occam offer a discount or deal to initial buyers - probably. Should Paladin offer a discount because the brush I purchased 2 weeks ago has "last month's knot" - no.
