New Stirling Scents

QoH is a good scent, I really like it. It was marketed toward women, but he actually found more men were buying it. The scent is a complex, gourmand one with lots of carmel and fruit. While I can see Rod's thinking, on the other side of the coin, I don't want my wife telling me I can't have dessert because chocolate cake isn't manly enough. Lol.

Haha, well that is definitely good to know! While I would not want to wear just any scent, either, I do appreciate a wide variety of scents, so I’ll definitely keep Queen of Hearts in mind as a possible sample. Problem is, by now I have probably a dozen Stirling scents I’d like to sample, and even their sample sizes last quite a while, at least in my rotation. (First world problem, I know.)

Of these new releases, Campania & Intrepid Man are superb for those who enjoy beautiful "cologney" type scents. As regards Waves of Grain I enjoy the soap scent immensely, but the AS seems to take off in a different direction. Still deciding if I like it. 

I don’t always enjoy the super “old school” cologne scents, but Campania and Intrepid Man both have very appealing scent descriptions, and are probably the kind of cologne-type scents I’d enjoy. Waves of Grain sounds good to me, too. I hope the aftershave grows on you! I’ve had that happen a few times with certain soap & splash sets – the scents have not quite matched up. Usually they’re still good, just different. Soap is not an easy medium in which to present accurate scents.

Well, if you decide to pull the trigger, you might need these too, then. I found them on Amazon... 2oz Aluminum screw top containers. Got a good deal at $7, with free Prime shipping for a Dozen. Immediately used 6 of them. Not quite the exact shade of Stirling green, but quite close.

For Stirling samples I get "free" containers. I reuse the KFC cole slaw/mashed potatoes & gravy tubs with their respective lids. I peel off the Stirling label and apply to the red lid. Voila!! 

Since the ball is rolling – Noosa is a brand of yogurt that is sold in several types of containers, but I’ve been repurposing the 8 oz. containers for soap samples for at least five years, now. The width of the jars is about the same as the 6 oz. Colt and Parkway jars, so it makes for easy loading of the soap. A photo from about 4 years ago:

I haven't yet tried their green empties. They look like smaller versions of their normal soap containers. So they should be great.

I have tried (have two, I believe?) the small Aluminum ones. They don't have screw tops, but sit pretty snug and are a really good, thick and durable containers.

While we're giving Stirling 'ata-boys', Id be remiss if I didn't sing the praises of their Post shave Balm (specifically Glacial). I use it exclusively for both PRE and POST shaves. It's really good stuff, imo.

Campania is AWESOME

I broke down and bought a tub of their Sheep unscented mutton tallow soap and yes, I do believe mutton tallow makes a difference. Richer lather and a frog hair more smooth. Many who cherish PSF like it as well.
