Everyone needs a spare box/drawer full of orphaned razors and razor parts.

I have a hard time parting with them unless I’m absolutely sure it’s not for me and has value. If it’s a $20 razor it’s almost not worth reselling since shipping is half the cost. And you never know if you’ll want to revisit it in the future.

Yep, that's what I meant by no resale value. Guess I could have used better phrasing. It sits or gets gifted to a friend but at the cheap price.... I gotta try it out....

Based on the video on the site, the blade looks to be quite unsupported (at least vertically). The Soloedge nailed this, while the Twig fails at this (especially in the corners). The problem with 1/2 DEs is that the blade is only clamped, not curved/torqued. And if the clamping is too far from the blade edge, it is a chattery mess (and potentially dangerous).

I hope it is a winner though, the price is quite attractive. Bring on the reviews!

Can't ride the cap? Hmmm......

Will be trying this later this afternoon when I come back from my bike ride.

My experience with Injectors and Valet Auto Strop is that shallow angles work very well.

Anybody else have any input?

Just used this razor for the first time, for my third "clean up" pass and the back of my neck after a double pass SR shave.

Very interesting razor. You can see my review in the Reviews section.

Long story short: very very mild, little to no blade exposure, easy to load.

Would make a good razor for someone just starting out or a gym or travel razor.

Surgery necessary! 

Sorry for the long post, but I realized after my first shave that as someone stated above, the blade was sliding back in the head (at least on one side).

I don't know whether the problem is poor design, poor quality control in the plating operation or tolerance stacking but when the head is fully closed, without a blade, there is a gap between the removable cap and the fixed base plate in excess of 0.010" when the cap is fully engaged:



Slightly more than 0.010" on the left vs. the right . This suggests that the post may not by completely perpendicular with respect to the head:






You can see that the post area for the cap has bottomed out against the top part of the handle:



Considering that most DE blades are only 0.004" thick, this gap is too big.  Also, the magnet which holds the blade while you are loading rises slightly above the floor of the base plate, so that it interferes with complete clamping of the blade. 




So, I put the handle part of the razor in a vise and filed down the top flat part of the handle and base plate around the post hole and laterally on both sides. Now, the rear of the head does not bottom out on the handle/base plate when the razor is fully closed (without a blade) and the 0.010" gap in the blade clamping area is mostly gone (the magnet still seems to interfere with the clamping action).  After that operation, the blade now fits with the rear of the cap not bottoming out on the handle top portion.  Still, I can squirm a feeler gauge in between the top of the blade and the cap, but the blade does seem much more secure and there is no visible gap.  I can not squeeze the feeler gauge between the top of the blade and the cap where the magnet is as I could before, so the clamping action is secure there, but that is a tiny surface area. 

We will see how it shaves tomorrow.  If the blade rotates around on the top of the magnet, I will file the magnet down to be level with the floor of the base plate.
