I like the OC. The head looks like it will have a nice, low profile.

Raw finish looks much better... Black coat sometimes makes razors sticky.
Very looking forward to get one...

Just read the email. I appreciated your frankness, Shane Blackland Razors, and the openness regarding the saga of the coating. It is all too easy to blame shift, as none of us like to admit that we are wrong or going the wrong way. But you owned the problem and opened up your struggle so we can understand what happened. Thank you for your candor.

For my part, I am still exercising my Buy Now speeds with my dominant finger. Maybe now I have time to become ambidextrous?!

I'm really happy there's no coating. Like Shane said, any coating is a failure point and I much prefer just the construction material. Can't wait to see how the different plates compare.

Thanks, guys. I definitely got a bit fixated on the finish without stepping back and asking whether this is actually something vital to the project and something that customers even care about. I'll be more cognizant of this in the future. Good lesson to learn and I was fortunate to get out of it basically unscathed this time.

Almost an impulse buy, I bought Pre de Provence no. 63 aftershave balm.

Only one use, so take my comments with a grain of salt, but this is the best balm I have ever used.

I have been shaving every day so my skin is a bit frustrated after a shave. This is the origin of my criticism of WK/ZM.

I slapped on some #63 after my shave this morning. Man oh MAN.

My skin feels like it's the first shave after an extended break. Smooth like glass, zero inflammation/irritation. I think this is the best balm I've ever used.

It's dirt cheap.

The smell is one of the best I have ever come across. Sadly fleeting - it's gone in under an hour - but I will definitely be buying the corresponding cologne.

I think the PdP 63 Balm and EDT are both excellent products, and so is the soap for that matter.  They may not be world champions, but each does a fine job, and they all are great values IMO.

PS  Thanks for the heads-up about Hawkins & Brimble.

^^^^ THIS THIS 1000X THIS

More "features" = more break points. I don't care if it's sexy or not, I just care if it gives a good shave. I don't want to deal with flaking black coating six months down the road.

Much better to figure this out before launch. I am patient!

It's definitely nice to have access to a professional lab so the parts can be tested in a controlled environment and subjected to repeatable and measurable experiments. I'm grateful for having that opportunity through our manufacturing partner and it absolutely paid off here. At our stage, Blackland can't do this internally to anywhere near the rigor required. If left to our own devices we may not have found out prior to launching.

I preferred the look of the black finish but the raw metal color is cool too.
